Why use GFY instead of contacting sponsors directly? I will tell you why!
I sent out an Email complaning of a problem back on Jan 10th.
I got a reply about it on Jan 22nd! Had I just posted the problem here at GFY I would have had the problem fixed in about 10 minutes. I also got an email from a sponsor saying their check was returned undeliverable. I sent them an email back in 2 minutes. Haven't heard from them since. What are the odds that the check will be in my mailbox in 2 days if I post about it here? 100% And if I don't? 0%... That is why I post shit on GFY and don't even attempt to contact sponsors directly. |

There's also ICQ. Whatever the situation - if it's between two individuals or an individual and business, it just seems more professional to hit peeps up on ICQ/email before you take something to the board in just about any regard. If your email/ICQ isn't answered in a timely fashion, then - at that point - I think it's fine to go ahead and hit the boards, ya know... no reason to wait nearly 2 weeks.... and that's why I think they're here... but , well we're all human... and shit happens, and if you don't at least do someone the courtesy of hitting them up mono e mono before you shine something in the community spotlight... that says more about you than them, imho. |
I had a few sponsors ask me to no post things on GFY.....if I did there would be some major dramaz.

This morning I noticed a problem with a sponsor's embedded Flash videos not playing in FireFox. I notified them and suggested a fix using their support email.
I wonder how long it will take for a response. |
Hold up... So the Sponsor contact you about a bad address on the check, and you want them to respond back within minutes?
Hahaha... You are lucky they contacted you at all.. I wouldn't have. And at least the other program responded, 10 days or not, was the problem corrected? Webmasters posting on forums doesn't threaten most Programs. If you say anything to bad or wrong, it's your ass. And often the head rep or owner just posts telling you to contact them directly anyway, which ends it and puts you back in your place... |

I agree fully V. I've had problems with numerous programs to whom i emailed and took as long as two weeks to have the issues resolved, some longer, or not at all. when i post i nice whining thread here on gfy it seems like they're right on top of sorting things straight within a couple hours to save face. why not throw your issue out there for everyone to see, fuck it. i usually try email first, but being as it is almost always useless i'm starting to toss it out here more and more.
