sad but most of this is probably true

StarkReality 01-22-2008 05:01 PM

Yep, it always becomes worse...but those still living in 2057 will probably look back to "golden" 2007.

tony286 01-22-2008 05:02 PM

funny and sad

BradM 01-22-2008 05:02 PM

Ugh, it's sick because I can see all instances happening.

GITZINGER 01-22-2008 05:05 PM

Best thread of the day!!

:1orglaugh:thumbsup

Brother Bilo 01-22-2008 05:07 PM

for real.

Except the gun one, there were trucks in my schools parking lot with gun racks and I graduated in 98. In fact, one kid shot a dear from his truck on the way home from school. It was kind of rural on the edge of our school district.

That actually happened at a local school here just last year. A girl had a headache and her friend gave her a Tylenol. The teacher saw it, and both girls got expelled for a week for the distribution of drugs!

I just got this in my e-mail recently. What a crack up

Bdiddy 01-22-2008 05:18 PM

So true. What has happened in this last decade is a travesty.

The gun and paddling scenarios have been like that for awhile. Believe it or not though, it was only post columbine that some of the Rural schools outside of the greater seattle area banned a gun in a car on a rack. True. (very rural though)

MetaMan 01-22-2008 05:20 PM

:1orglaugh it is funny but very sad at the sametime.

there is so many restrictions on everything these days it is ridiculous.

GrouchyAdmin 01-22-2008 05:44 PM

Where is:

1957: Child is not prevented from experiencing life. Skins knees, burns fingers, learns not to do stupid shit.

2007: Grows up without ever experiencing the harsh realities of life, becomes ultra-liberal and eventually gets stabbed to death by trying to hug a carjacker.

Fat Panda 01-22-2008 05:50 PM

have read this before,,,,,never the less still funny

jakethedog 01-22-2008 05:55 PM

so fucking true i can't believe it .. I was born in 1967 .. lived in a town with few drive-in's ... a tiny single screen movie theater .. and yeah .. knew all the cops by name .. and when we fucked up ... the cops drove us home and our dads kicked our asses ... drinking in the bowling alley parking lot was not the fucking end of the world .. cops would show up .. tell us to pick up our empties and get "Sandra" home cause he father would be pissed if he knew she was out with us .. ... it was a beautiful time .. and we enjoyed life with out computers and cable TV .. we built tree forts and fished in the creek .. just like Huckle-Berry fucking Fin sure as hell beats what my kids have to grow up with ..

UniversalPassLorence 01-22-2008 06:03 PM

True indeed. You don't have to go that far. I remember 1977, junior high, was very innocent compared to now.

dready 01-22-2008 06:08 PM

What will it be like in 2057?

Marshal 01-22-2008 07:03 PM

all of this shit is due to media is overblowing the stories all the time... and you ended up believing all the shit you see or hear on tv. full stop.

cspdinc 01-22-2008 09:16 PM

This is the truth, I won't say where or what year other than it was pre 70's
Our Geography teacher had us study ww2. We, the kids in my block were really reeally good at making gas/leafpile bombs. You take a pile of leaves, hose it down with gas and add another and another and another layer until all your leaves where used up and made a big pile. Let it set overnight then the next day, set out our lawnchairs and dared one of us to run up and pour on more gas. (yes it went off once just doing this.) and run a little trail bak to our chairs.

Once this was done, we'd play cards to see who got to light the trail. The lucky person got to toss a wood match and poof, the fire was off racing to the pile. and when it got there.
KAPLOOOOOOEY! It was like a nuke it was so cool. It actually imploded first before depositing leaves ALL over the yard. We always had a hose handy but it was just a flash explosion. It was so big and hot though, the grownups would come watch too sometimes. We were maybe 12.

ANYWAYS......... the geography teacher knew we were good at making things blow up and assigned us to show how flame throwers and such were used on the Japanese in WW2. She, allowed us to construct a wood and cardboard series of tunnels and a fort and let us make molatav cocktail bombs and let us SHOOT our pellet guns at unbroken bottles that didnt break on contact.

The class was mortified. (the girls at least.) We were kings for a day. I think back to that and what would happen if we did this today in school. I doubt we'd see the light of day ever again if performed in the fine year of 2008.

BTW... did you ever consider that a wall to keep illegals OUT. will also work to keep us IN. If that day ever comes. Always look at the big picture.

..... thats all. Just thought I'd share this little bit of schooling of mine.

Catalyst 01-22-2008 09:32 PM

I really like that.. scary.. but true.

I got in trouble for having phenylalanine tablets (supplements) at the catholic high school i went to. In college, there were more than a few kids who came from private boarding schools -- they liked to snort their ritalin and chase vodka with toothpaste.

Not sure who "owns" who, but I don't think kids give a shit.

very true....its nuts how by knowing your history , you will know your future :-)

MetaMan 01-23-2008 12:34 AM

This thread got me thinking again,
not like i am one to listen to cops in the firstplace,

but it amazes me how we are supposed to live in the "land of freedoms" in certain countires yet we cannot do anything.

the "law" has gotten so far out of hand it has gotten rid of its point in the firstplace.

a lil off topic but i remember cruising in a limo haning out the sunroof and getting pulled over by the cops, with the amount of problems in the city here daily the cops really have time to pull over a limo filled with people just trying to have fun?

we have this ave called 17th ave and when are beloved flames made the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row they shut down the ave to traffic and ticketed people who even walked on the street, here we have 1 chance to bring the city together and they boycott it.

what the hell is happening to this world?

and what amazes me is how quick people are to give up their freedoms not realising slowly their will be none left.

Fap 01-23-2008 12:41 AM

a little over the top in most of the cases if you ask me.. but still entertaining

Nearly EVERY female teacher accused of fucking her students has been given probation. Show me one that got sent to prison that didn't get sent because she violated probation.

The point was that most that have grown up in FL - at least anywhere North of Okeechobee - wouldn't offer the gun thing as an implausible scenario worthy of some "fairy tale land."

Surprised you did.
