Any CC processors going to establish a presence in other countries?
This is a question for any of the CC processors (IBill, CCBill, Epoch, WSB, Jettis, etc...)
Do any of you plan to setup merchant banking relationships in any other countries besides the US? There seem to be many webmasters from countries like Canada, Australia, Europe, etc... It would make it a lot easier for them than having to setup a US company just to process through you. |
I know RonC from CCBill said that its hard for them to get a merchant banking relationship in Canada because no banks will touch the "high risk" businesses, but what about other countries like Australia, UK, Germany, France, etc...?

If CCBILL or any CC PROCESSOR IS INTERESTED, I WILL SET UP MEXICO.

As an Aussie webmaster,
I'd be interested to hear an answer on this. Shark |
No Australian banks can aquire in US$ as of yet.
I believe one bank is working on it. Even if you can get an Austrlian bank to aquire in US$ (which you need to avoid a shitload of chargebacks and confusion) no Australian banks that I know of are going to give you a merchant account for high risk without a shit load of capital behind you and even then I doubt it. |

Yeah its a real mess whichever way you look at it, especially given the time frame we have been given to work with.
I have a reasonable amount of rebills in the system and a partner program, so my options are limited. Theres too many rebills to walk away from.. |
Getting new banks to "try" high risk as much of a problem as the banks keeping afloat once the chargebacks start rolling in and the bank sdoes not have the staff, guts, or wits to assemble the proper team to take care of it. And when the card associations start auditing daily, they get really scared and pull out. I have seen it happen before with Korea, Australia and other banks aruond the world.
You must work with a processor who has established relationships... not fly by night operations with no track record. Mitch |
