ok so i decided to upgrade my web host plan...

i decided to upgrade my web hosting plan on monday. its now friday & the work order is still not complete. its final eta was 8:00pm today. its now 10:40pm. its near completion but its like no one is working the orders. i responded to the work order ticket around 2pm today to complete it. i haven't gotten a response since. just contacted live support & they tell me the admin will contact me in a hour or so.

if i would have known it was going to take this long i would have gone with my initial host that could have had this done in ONE DAY!!!

pornask 02-08-2008 08:48 PM

wow, dude. You should try one of reputable adult hosts that know what they're doing. You may end up paying a few bocks extra, but you will seriously see your sites up and running and you will spend less time keeping them alive, hence more time to grow them.

baddog 02-08-2008 08:48 PM

Unless they had to special order the hardware, and informed you of that ahead of time, that is unacceptable IMHO.

eMonk 02-08-2008 08:57 PM

its funny because their banner is currently being displayed in the gfy rotation at the top of my screen.

email from web host THIS MORNING!!:
------------------------

i was told 72-96 hours for the work order to be COMPLETE!

the work order begun 120 hours later!

no special hardware needed!

eMonk 02-08-2008 09:19 PM

the thing that pisses me off the most out of this is...

DuTcHy from xxxhostit responded to my icq msg & told me he could start moving my files over to his servers asap and have it done within a few hours... i hate learning from my mistakes... :Oh crap

he's next in line though if things don't go well once my work order completes!! :winkwink:

eMonk 02-08-2008 09:28 PM

11:28pm and still no response from the work order manager!!:mad:
live support also can't complete the order. :disgust

papill0n 02-08-2008 09:42 PM

Totally unacceptable. Hope they sort you out soon man.

LiveDose 02-08-2008 09:53 PM

That is a long wait. You are a dream client...

Very little reason for it to take 3-4 days. When we first started up we had techs that took a while, but now most dedicated plans are set up same day.

CyberHustler 02-08-2008 10:50 PM

That sucks, 24-48 hrs of downtime is horrible. Check out HostHead.com. I'm completely happy with them.

This is yet ANOTHER thread that shows that webair really sucks when the truth is told by real people not just paid board whores.:2 cents:

Jace 02-09-2008 04:52 AM

I got about 10 posts in and thought to myself "this sounds like webair" hahaha

what a horrible host they are turning out to be, and I think they actually get worse every month or so

eMonk 02-09-2008 04:58 AM

does anyone know if some of their techies are outsourced? i wouldn't be surprised.

eMonk 02-09-2008 05:15 AM

7:15am *yawnz*

Boss Traffic Jim 02-09-2008 05:20 AM

You're gonna make yourself go nuts if you are still waiting for webair. You should be moving on already and chalk it up to experience.:2 cents: Good Luck mate.

I remember reading in 1 of their spam threads recently that webair girrard dude said they have 60+ techs....I nearly pissed in my pants and spit soda all over when I read that bull.

Seriously dude, you should be making other hosting arrangements right now and end all your nightmares.:2 cents:

GoNe 02-09-2008 07:19 AM

Just emailed this thread to Michael at webair.

Why would you have downtime ????

Your site is on server1 , with original dns serving it to surfers
Site is also on server2, with new dns.

You switch DNS at the registrar level to the new dns. Depending on location and cache of worldwide dns, surfers either go to server1 or to server2. Full propagation can take up to 48 hours, but most of it is done in 2 - 5 hours.

Sites are never down ... :2 cents:

highly unusual? HAHAHAHAHAHA

don't make me laugh harder

i remember my webair experience...like 4 years ago, started with virtual like this guy, just to try the waters...in the first month I accumulated approx 20 hours of downtime on my sites and was eventually given almost 6 months of free service for the fuck up, but what good is free service when the shit never works?

reading all the threads about webair fucking up since then makes me cringe when I see people sign up for them

Yes HIGHLY UNUSUAL...

Jace I invite you to come back and try us again we've made stellar upgrades and have all new management (Alot can happen in 4 years =)) I don't know the particulars of your issues 4 years ago but i am sure you would be happy with our services now... And yes I would expect that we would & should have more posts on this board than any other host both bad and good, as we have been in business for 11+ years and host a lot more clients than what your comparing us to.

This situation will be handled just like we handle anything else that may arise quickly and efficiently. Thanks for bump jace!

hell no, I am with natnet now, can't get any better than that...the threads started on all the forums about how much webair screws up is just too much for me, and working on peoples blogs on webair servers let's me know nothing has really changed much since I was there
