CSS is driving me batty!
 

Aggggh! I thought I had a handle on this stuff, but apparently I've lost my grip a bit. I can't seem to get my divs to float properly, and when they do, they are 0px tall, even when there's content inside them.

Hmm....

I don't want to post the entire page here. Lots of nested divs that worked up until I started floating things, now I can't get them back to where they were without absolutely positioning every little piece.

br style="clear: both" /> Try that. Add the < before the br.

ok I got the floating figured out with the images. I needed to specify heights for the divs so they didn't get minds of their own! Now if only firefox and IE could agree on how to float in-line elements around..

Are you even supposed to be floating in-line elements ?

can't you just use a plain table tag?

I'm trying to move away from tables for large layout purposes. They're ok for grids, though.

remember you can split cell and what not..are you checking the layout in two different browsers?
