WTF is congress getting involved with baseball for?

I have wondered this for the last year. Why are we continuing to run these guys up to DC and have them testify in front of congress? Many of these guys did this stuff before it was even illegal and those that did it after it was illegal, so what? Are we not fighting a war on terrorism? Are we not looking into the eyes of a recession? You would think that these guys would have better things to do than to find out if Roger Clemons did steroids or not.

I'm a huge baseball fan and think that steroids have fucked the game up, but I still don't think congress should be anywhere near this.

Football too.

Now you've got a US senator delving into the whole game taping thing with the Patriots.

War? What war?

Um because those sports have anti-trust exemptions thanks to the federal governent and also get MILLIONS in government money to build stadiums with.

As you can see Congress does not have much to do. Most don't realize whats happening with the economy and more serious issues so Grilling a baseball and trainer and creating a circus

And people are watching the baseball coverage, not even realizing that the spy/surveillance permissions expire on Saturday and Bush is trying to bully them through to renew them.

I can see your point, but it still seems like a waste of time, effort and money. Do they look into every buisness that gets free government money for building and expanding then finds out an executive was on coke so he could stay up and work all those hours?

I think it's cuz these guys are considered "role models." But yeah US Congress has much more important shit to worry about, like gun control.
