Why I think Some Pay Sites Are Loosing Traffic

This is just my opinion on why some pay sites are loosing traffic.

I have looked at quite a lot of paysites as I did descriptions for a certian webmaster and from looking at a lot of them I would not even join them my self. I would not pay $29.99 a month for a subscription to look at porn.
If you look at GFY the biggest threads are either competition threads where people get something back or threads that are entertaining to both the readers and posters. So why would somebody pay to view your site if it is just the run of the mill porn which is all over the net now. I guess you do get impulse buys from some people which is certianly not going to sustain a pay site. Offer your surfer something unique or something that the surfer will go "wow" thats fucking awsome I want some of that. What about offering more than just porn. Offer the surfer something in return like a competition to win $100 or something offer them free t-shirts or caps or even pencils and pens lighters all sorts of shit. Make your paysites interactive let the people who are joining talk to other users who have the same porn intrest. Make them want to join your paysite. Look at your paysite like a social network and involve people with what you are doing and I dont mean by spaming them with crappy emails. Ask your users for their opinions on your sites and get them involved. I think this is one of the main problems with paysites, to a lot of surfers they just look boring and are all the same. You guys should stop looking at your sites from a webmasters view and try and see it from a surfers view. :2 cents:

notoldschool 02-17-2008 09:21 AM

Thats just what porn website members want. LOL

DjiXas 02-17-2008 09:24 AM

How about offer money back guarantee if erection wasn't very hard?

If some one wants to jerk off watching fat chicks porn, he will buy membership anyway, doesn't matter if they offer free plastic vaginas for one out of 100 members or not.

Just do it.

If others see that it worked great for you they will surely copy everything.

ok nice suggestion

e.g. as a member of a paysite, i want a free ballpen on my 2nd month and a free mug on my 4th month and a free tshirt on my 12 months - all with a nice logo from the website.

Buying porn and viewing porn tends to be a personal thing, its not like bdsm or swingers.Where they are a community. Also most people dont want to be receiving snail mail from porn sites. Let me give you an example when we were first starting out, we decided to offer a special if you signed up you get a free 10 min phone with my wife. The solo girl of the site. I told her are you ready if its busy to be on the phone alot , she is all for it. We had 100 new members that month, want to know how many took us up on the phone call? Two people.
Also saying its too expensive, go to a porn shop and buy a video avg cost $25. For that you get 2-3 hours of porn. Join a site for $29.95 the surfer has access to 100's of hours of porn, that he can keep on his computer to jack off forever.
Its not the price, its on the internet for some reason taking shit is ok. Also people looking for free they arent going to pay I dont care what you offer them.

halfpint, They can't here you, Most of the people here are the ones responsible for destroying the porn industry.

Tony I am not saying give your content out for free what I was geting at is because there is so much free porn on the net now why would people want to pay $29.00 for a month of porn. If you have a unique niche or something that is completly diff from the normal paysite then you will attract more people. If you look at it this way. When a company launches a new product in a shop that is already available, they do one of many things they tell the customer why thier product is better than the one that is allready available, they also might give out free samples to lure people to their new product they will also say their product has more features/ tastes better/ is made from 100% natural products..whatever so why cant paysite owners apply these same marketing technics. You have got to look at what a surfer sees/thinks when he hits your site. Social networking sites are very popular because they offer so much iteractivity, even TV/ gaming is more interactive now than ever, so the way I see it is to offer your surfers more than just porn for signing up, give them something in return and keep them intrested in your site so they keep coming back.

Groundbreaking, you should offer consulting at $500/hour.
