Mac user for life

I'll get some ridicule for this thread I'm sure but I don't care. Changing from PC to Mac 4 years ago was the best move. I love my Mac and I especially love the FREE tech support I get at my local Apple store. First time I've ever gone in there today and not only did they fix the issues I was having but I had no idea the service was free. Made my day. It's nice to post something positive... Thought I'd spread the love... http://www.ynot.com/index.php?module...etail&uid=5107

fuck ya .. love my apple, made the full switch, even deleted the bootcamp partition i had setup for just in case.

no such incidents as just in case :)

stickyfingerz 02-19-2008 11:02 AM

No thanks, but I am thrilled after my switch from xp to vista! :thumbsup

jakethedog 02-19-2008 11:05 AM

totally agree... and as someone pointed out in past threads .. you never see anyone actually starting up and thread to say .. "WOW .. i am so happy i switched from a MAC to a PC .. that alone has to say something .. best move I have made hardware wise ..

Excellent point.

XSV 02-19-2008 11:10 AM

Macs rule. Switched in '92 with the Quadra 950 and never looked back. :thumbsup

Ice 02-19-2008 11:13 AM

I switched to a Mac about 6 months ago and LOVE IT. Since I have made the switch I have not turned on my windows machine at home.

you have pretty much provided the answer yourself. PC users are happy and entirely content with their machines. Mac fanboys on the other hand always have to start their little thread to compensate for their small dicks about how awesome their macs are. You never see PC users compensating. It's exclusive to mac fanboys.

Well, as predicted... this response was inevitable. I do find it amusing that dick size and youth usually find their way into it but never the other way around when someone gushes about their PC. Oh well whatever.

As a former PC user, if I was happy and content I would not have switched to Mac. I got sick of how XP got so bloated and had to be re-installed every 6 months or so, the blue screens of death, etc, etc, etc.

Since my switch to Mac I have not had one issue.

Nah man, I use all 3 operating systems and I recommend Mac the most because I like it. It's one of those things that you find cool and want to share with others, not the small-dick syndrome.

I would love to get down with you on this whole mac vs pc debate .. but truth is .. I was terrified to do the change over .. loved my PCs..swore by them and said I would be the last person to change .. I think a huge part of it was the learning curve .. 11 1/2 years on a PC and then to switch .. but after what I would call a longer than normal adjustment due to I'm sure my inner retard, I started to see a reliability, simplicity and speed that I couldn't dismiss .. personally I am happier .. thats all .. I wouldn't force feed anyone ..(accept my staff)... call me a mactard .. at least I am a happy one ..

Ever notice how most Mac users are skinny? It's because of all the calories they burn because they can't shut the fuck up about how great their Macs are. What is it about Apple that makes its users unable to shut their mouths? Everywhere I go, there's another asshole with a Mac preaching about how much better Macs are than PCs.

Then your skills are fucked up. I have installed XP more than two years ago and haven't reinstalled it yet. Haven't got any blue screens and other shit.

Of couse no one will tell you that I am moving from Mac to PC, once they spent nice $ for that peace of shit, they won't admit that Macs sucks and will live with that. Go apple fan boys!

Why does Mac suck? The 10 reasons that Apple must think is imperative for making the change from a PC to a MAC can be found on their website.

I tried. Really I did. Bought a tricked out MacBook Pro several months ago. Kept it for 2 or 3 months. Ended up selling it on Ebay for about a $1K loss. I just couldn't figure the damn thing out :( I think the biggest mistake I made was keeping my Windows laptop up and running. Whenever I'd hit a snag with the Mac, I'd just hop on the Windows. Maybe if I'd disconnected the Windows and been forced to figure the Mac out I would have. Who knows......

Babaganoosh 02-19-2008 02:11 PM

Can any of you Mac people recommend an MP3 player for mac that doesn't suck? Every single MP3 player I have found looks more like a fucking spreadsheet than a media player. Anything like winamp would be great.

Yeah, I even bought Parallels. Like I said, if the Windows machine wasn't sitting there, I probably would have had a different outcome.

The BEST thing was the back lit keyboard. Don't know why all laptop manufacturers don't do that.

Your on crack man!

I've been running XP on this box for like five years, never had a single problem, no having to re-install XP, no blue screen of death.

My brother gave me his Macbook for a month trying to get me to switch over.... I failed to see the difference. In fact, I found it ironic that all of his MAC computers boot up to windows anyhow.

Well here is one. My biz partner went and bought a Mac Pro quad core 4gb of ram everything. It went back within a week. Couldnt stand it. He REALLY tried to like it too. I tried using it for a full day and bugged the shit out of me. Programs locked up, annoying to try and find programs we needed for simple everyday tasks like ftp etc.

Most of the reason you dont hear that is cause way way way more people start out on windows, then people start on mac. Simply an odds thing.

Doesn't sound like the Macs fault to me. If the two of you can't do something as simple as find an FTP program, then you are already struggling to begin with.

Oh we found CyberDuck, and wasnt that just spiffy? lmao Mac fanboys or Macrons as I like to call them kill me. Did I see you above recommend to Peaches she should of just ran windows on her mac? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh Whether I could of got him up and running is not a question. I 'could have' done that. Now is it worth the constant hassle trying to find work arounds for simple tasks? Fuck no. My duo core pc was just as fast as the quad core mac.

Why do mac people think its normal to have to have a windows pc laying around to complete simple jobs? Name me one thing I cannot do with a pc that I can do on a mac. I dont have to have a mac laying around incase my pc cant accomplish a task. End of debate

webair 02-19-2008 04:23 PM

Why do PC people always think we are referring to only the OS as being superior?? Last time I checked Mac ran Vista faster than any PC.

Macs can run OS X and Windows Vista out of the box. Name 1 thing a PC can do that a Mac can't, and since a PC can run Windows, good luck to ya on that one.

Cyberduck? Never heard of it, Transit is the FTP of choice for must Mac users.

Yea - It's like breaking a habit. I just stuck with using osx and eventually learned - it's just more convenient & efficient -- there are a lot of time-saving options in osx - my favorite being the "spaces" options (4 screens on one. have safari on one, mail client on other, ftp & terminal on another, and irc, icq, and aim on another).

you can actually add more screens than 4, 4 is just default.

I have both a Mac Pro and a home made X6800 based PC. The X6800 blows the Mac away, it's just so much easier to build a faster PC. I think my flirtation with Apple is coming with an end.

I do love the Notebooks and Iphone still tho...

LAJ 02-19-2008 05:46 PM

Ah... I should add that I have 2 iMacs a Mac book 2 ipods and I love em all and I stand at 5' 11" and weigh 170 so I guess the theory that I'm a skinny mac fan boy is right... by webmaster standards hell I'll say I'm amaciated. I'm not here to put down PC users. And I certainly have no anger or ill will towards them... that belongs to them.

now they are clogged with 15 year old goth-punk wisha-wannabes checking out itunes and fucknot.
