2008 Pontiac G6 GT

What do you guys think of this car? Im looking for opinions of people who know what the fuck theyre talking about. I rented a car when I went to visit my family this past weekend, and loved it. It rides smooth as my ass juice after chili night.
Anybody know anything bad about it?

Martin 02-19-2008 11:53 AM

Don't know much about it but it looks pretty sharp.

The G6 is less powerful, and doesnt look as mean as the G8. Id love a G8, but I need more MPG.

The car's ok, I may be a little subjective: I'm not a big fan of American cars. For about the same price you could get an '08 VW GTI (the DSG transmission is awesome) - I personally had one and it's a beast - so fun to drive.

Edit: CTS is a great car, Cadillac did it right on this one.

WarChild 02-19-2008 12:12 PM

I drove a G5, a G6 and a Cadillac CTS. I went with the CTS.

Im not much for American cars either, but parts and labor is so much cheaper than on a VW. If it wasnt so expensive to have fixed(if anything were to go wrong) Id have an 08 GTI in a heartbeat.

I just drove a rental (G6, GT) for a week. Quick and responsive it felt good on the road. I was up in the tri-state area NY, NJ, PA handled mountain curves well. Only problem I have is that about 2 yrs into owning an pontiac is that it will turn into a piece of shit. Its remarkable how they do that! It part of the way american cars are designed. Only to last two years. Now Trucks is another topic. Thats why I drive one...(96 Dodge RAM 1500 4x4 160,000) still looking great and running better. just my two cents.

Thats because you're an old man and you need the large Caddy trunk space for your oxygen tank and wheelchair. :winkwink:

Yes my trunk can carry 3 bottles of oxygen, my wheelchair, 2 bags of lime, a large bottle of industrial strength bleach, a tarp, a shovel and still have room for two dead hookers. :thumbsup

I used to drive a 2006 G6 GTP coupe, 6spd. It was pretty fun.. nice interior.. looked nice. Honestly though.. any front-drive car is not gonna be the funnest car to drive. Very very smooth and quiet on the highway though.. more than enough power.

Not really looking for something to tear the streets up with anyway.

pornguy 02-19-2008 02:54 PM

Your on crack. I drive nothing but American cars, these days all Fords. I never have any problems. I have a four year old Ford Explorer with 100k miles on it and not a single problem. I'm tired of this "American cars are crap" idea. That might have been the case ten years ago, but not these days.

Yea, American cars still catch a lot of crap from 10-15 years ago.

WebairGerard 02-19-2008 05:01 PM

American cars are finally starting to make a nice comeback. hope it continues

Because finally they learned from the Europeans. Took a while though. Typical American ignorance.
