Yeah pretty funny..

2012 02-20-2008 12:32 PM

yeah great movie. I accidentally walked into a shot when they were filming it. When I saw the crowd and cameras I thought someone got shot? The people I was walking down the promenade with were extras, .... do'h:Oh crap

ADL Colin 02-20-2008 12:33 PM

liked it. sure.

Mike Dutch 02-20-2008 12:35 PM

ProjectNaked 02-20-2008 12:35 PM

that was a wierd ass movie - wasn't so fond of the whole 8 year old sex symbol idea :2 cents: but overall i made it to the end without losing complete interest

pornguy 02-20-2008 12:38 PM

Did not like it at all.

Fat Panda 02-20-2008 12:41 PM

i thought it was dumb

SykkBoy 02-20-2008 12:51 PM

I really liked it
The grandfather reminded me a lot of my own grandfather

Bryan G 02-20-2008 01:32 PM

I liked it, the grandfather was great LOL

hollinator 02-20-2008 01:33 PM

Alan Arkin is a great actor. I really like him a lot... He was the only redeeming quality in that movie.

CosmicTang 02-20-2008 01:34 PM

the ending was hysterical. made the rest of the movie worth it.

tony286 02-20-2008 01:45 PM

good movie and it was great to see Alan win a Oscar.

Dirty F 02-20-2008 01:45 PM

Hmm this thread went not as expected.

xNetworx 02-20-2008 01:47 PM

I did not understand why they said the pageant was in Redondo Beach, but filmed it elsewhere. In fact, where was that? San Diego?

Dirty F 02-20-2008 01:53 PM

It worries me that everybody has seen the movie...

Holiday Inn Ventura ... Its now the "Crown Royal" biggest eyesore downtown. It used to be a great spot to commit suicide being the tallest building here ...

That explains why I did not recognize it I guess. Haven't been to Ventura in a while and I could not recognize any landmarks that would indicate San Diego either.

You fucked boneprone?

Sarah_Jayne 02-20-2008 02:06 PM

I liked it. Not sure it was a 'Best Picture' type film but I did like it. I also think the people uncomfortable with the 'sexed up' kid were missing the commentary on those sort of pageants.

Sly 02-20-2008 02:07 PM

I thought it was hilarious. I loved the grandpa.

It's part of the same Hollywood Magic that has Jack Bauer calling in that he's at the corner of Moorpark and Laurel Canyon as he's running through some warehouse district somewhere.

Little Miss Sunshine was... ok. Didn't really understand all of the acclaim it got.

Happens in films based in London all the time. They go in a door in one part of London and when they walk out the same door they are on the other side of the city.

KILL_FRENZY 02-20-2008 02:15 PM

I have to watch it soon

cykoe6 02-20-2008 02:35 PM

I liked that movie.

cheekycherry 02-20-2008 02:56 PM

It was fucking shit. Over rated shit.

MandyBlake 02-20-2008 03:05 PM

it was a great movie.

I got Lake Casitas on occasion and when you drive up the 101 that far you definitly see a bridge they pass at the end of that film, so I'd say it was shot near or in Port Hueneme perhaps or some beach town right in that area.

RedShoe 02-20-2008 03:17 PM

Nope, I see it now it was Ventura. I used google maps and found that bridge, the over pass, the hotel and the pier. It's in Ventura.

I'll screen cap it when I get back.

that bridge is the train tracks that cross california st. in vta - "redondo suites" sounds better then "holiday inn":1orglaugh. they shoot a lot of movies here ... never say its Ventura though

I thought the movie was ok, but Steve Carell was awesome as the gay suicidal uncle.

uno 02-20-2008 04:26 PM

dubpost.

baddog 02-20-2008 04:46 PM

Okay, so they picked Ventura over Redondo for the empty space and freeway accessibility.

Thank you.

When you say awesome, do you mean like Giants win the superbowl awesome, or like "wise choice" awesome?
