Who Runs A Network Of Blogs?

If you don't mind, show em' off.

Do you run custom scripts on the back end to manage them from one location?

Wordpress or Joomla?

Mods/Plugins you find useful?

jscott 02-21-2008 02:27 AM

i use wordpress on 99% of mine, i have about 20, no plugins in use either (yet)

Bama 02-21-2008 09:17 AM

Bump for the morning blog runners.

crockett 02-21-2008 09:23 AM

Use Blogs Organizer You can run as many blogs as you want from one admin pannel. Doesn't matter where they are hosted either. It's what I use.

btw the webpage looks like a 9.99 sales picth add but it's a good script.

Darrell 02-21-2008 10:09 AM

Blogs Organiser is the way to go :thumbsup

Net Money 02-21-2008 10:48 AM

Bump for the cause. I personally think blogs are a total waste of time, so other than the bump I can't help you mate.:helpme

Rochard 02-21-2008 11:25 AM

I run a blog network...... It's something we are working on still. Our goal is 100 blogs by Phoenix Forum..... So far we have like 45. We are trying to cover all niches from Solo girl, teen, oral, handjob, breasts, ebony, BBW, gay, tranny... Everything.

http://www.rochardsbunnyranch.com/bl...08/02/blog.jpg

My favorite is my first, which is a bit of everything:
http://www.rochardsbunnyranch.com/blog/

Although it's not ready for public viewing, you can see most of the blogs in our network at:
http://www.trafficpimps.com/our_network.php

I use Wordpress and Linkex to manage the blogs.

However, the one tool I cannot live without is Blog Desk. This is a small M$ Word like program where I write the blog posts, insert pictures, set the date to post, etc. It also is a wonder with managing large amount of links, resizing pictures, and creating thumbnails. The best part is it's free! I never log into Wordpress these days.....

I highly recomend you try it:

Babaganoosh 02-21-2008 11:33 AM

Rochard, try Windows Live Writer. I used to use blog desk before WLR did some major updating but it can't compete anymore.

Babaganoosh 02-21-2008 11:44 AM

Shit, looks like blogdesk has done some updating too since the last time I used it. Might have to check it out again.

CyberHustler 02-21-2008 12:46 PM

+1 For blogdesk. Controls my whole entire wordpress blog network, no need to ever sign in to wordpress admin. Also supports other blog scripts. No need to buy anything.

That's hot, isn't it? I'm playing around with adding in celeb stuff to see if that helps with search engine traffic. Oddly enough the celeb I get the most traffic for is Halle Berry.....

There isn't much more information about it. I don't know why microsoft is so hush hush about it. All I can find is this severely outdated page:

http://windowslivewriter.spaces.live...E8AA!174.entry

I love wlr but I am going to try an entry or two using blogdesk tonight. It's changed a lot since I last used it.

Miguel T 02-21-2008 02:04 PM

I run a few networks, all with Wordpress.

Danger Mouse 02-21-2008 04:05 PM

Good thread... now the real question: do these blog networks generate any serious revenue?

Looks like blogdesk but perhaps with a few more features. I'll download it this weekend and give it a spin. Thanks man!

u-Bob 02-21-2008 04:21 PM

I run 'a couple' :)
Most them are built using my own scripts, some of them were generated using blogsolution.

Hit me up if you want to set up some productive celeb trades, I can send you some good traffic.

have fun doing security updates on those 100 wp blogs every time a new patch comes out. Hope the updates don't screw all your templates up aswell.

:pimp

An old dog just learned a new trick...

Wow... the way I was doing shit before was... out dated as all fuck - I guess...

V_RocKs 02-22-2008 02:48 AM

Just one thing windows live writer lacks and that is to be able to copy the settings of one account into a new account..

Entering in ftp settings for every blog is tedious...

BetChips 02-22-2008 03:09 AM

Huge network here, what you looking for?

munki 02-22-2008 03:15 AM

So many splogs... so lil time...

Hit me up if you want.. I just make my own themes. You can use basic HTML if you want no need for CSS if you don't want it. The templates are pretty easy to make and you can edit WP templates if you really want to.

I started it years ago, wanting to take a look at both blogs and TGPs to see how I can better help my affiliates (then at Lightspeed Cash). So I set up a blog and a TGP. The TGP lasted two months. Years later I still work on the blog every day.....

AnneT 02-24-2008 10:06 PM

Wow! So many bloggers! Obviously it's true that there's no money in blogging ;)

I'm working away at mine. Want to have 50-100 handwritten blogs going in the next 12 months, across probably 5-8 niches.

Been using WP but seriously need to start using Blog Organiser. I use all of Kaktusan's other scripts - they are amazing.

Jace 02-24-2008 10:24 PM

I have shit tons of them, don't even know how many anymore

I run them all using a pretty customized version of autoblogger pro

I usually start at least 2-3 new ones a day

J. Falcon 02-24-2008 10:34 PM

Hate to spam this thread but if ya'll need blog writers, now you know who to contact: Adult Copywriters

You amaze me Jace. 2-3 a day is phenomenal. Are you using fresh domains for each blog?

Bama 02-25-2008 12:08 AM

The reason I've never gotten into the "blog" on a commercial scale is that I simply don't have time to write articles and hook up the imagery. Multiply that by many, many blogs and it seems like that's all you'd be doing all day.

I don't really know much about the blogging software/options/game - be the first to admit it, and if there are scripts that you can set up and let it run autonomously - I'd be interested in that type of solution.

That is definitely the key. You need to find ways of making large amounts of quality content without burning out your brain. But it's not as hard as it sounds. The tools are amazing now and you can even buy posts quite economically.

Like most things in this biz you just need a good plan, some smarts and some discipline ;)

The discipline part is tough. I tried to come up with original content every day and after about 10 days I wanted to shoot myself. I see a lot of blogs that are filled with "isn't she hot" posts and I didn't want to be one of those guys. I eventually threw in the towel and went the splog route.

How do you come up with original content without either sounding repetitive or contemplating suicide?

Limit your posts to 50 words each. Make 50-100 posts at once, queued up in Gallery Scraper. Don't try to make them too good. Good enough is fine. 100 posts is enough for 1 year, if you space them out.

That's my philosophy at the moment anyway for banging out quality blogs at one a week. I do a bit of stuff with splogs too but I'm mainly using them for linkage. I've only able to get on average 50 uniques per day per splog, so far. A quality blog should manage 500 on average, and better quality too.

Markul 02-25-2008 01:52 AM

Use WP on about 40 or so blogs, but I need to do something as updating and maintaining the blogs are becoming a pita for me. I'll check out that blog organizer, thanks for the link! :)
