9,000 pieces of orbiting junk, weighing a total of more than 5,500 tonnes

some funny part :

Quote:

old rocket launchers, tools and instruments dropped by astronauts, and pieces of exploded spacecraft. Examples include a glove lost by astronaut Ed White during a 1965 space walk, a camera that Michael Collins let slip in space in 1966 and a pair of pliers that an International Space Station astronaut recently let slip through their fingers.
sounds like a good potential for a garage sale .... :upsidedow

They say it's starting to pose a hazard to future space missions, right?

WTF.. thats just weird!

Just got to get past that whole issue of it costing around 10,000.00 per pound to launch something so we can clean the shit up. Im thinking a super huge as electromagnet and then turn it on. Then again hell it may fuck with important shit or mess with their orbits.

Some giant space net, tow it behind a craft and when full enough drop it into the atsmophere.

Hell how in the fuck do you clean up space?

They need to get off their asses and build some space elevators..
