Who did the plane from San Jose to Jaco at the Costa Rica Bash last year?

I'm wondering what it cost and how easy it was to setup.

GrouchyAdmin 02-24-2008 09:20 PM

Screw Jaco. Take Nature Air to Bocas! :thumbsup

Now he tells me. :1orglaugh

GrouchyAdmin 02-24-2008 09:26 PM

Well, you didn't ask! Start here, if you want to go to Bocas. Round trip is probably gonna cost you $100, and you can get a place there rather cheap. Olas and Cale Luna are pretty nice. Olas is right on the water; Cale Luna is inland, but has internet if you need it.

Also, Guinness stout: $0.75/ea.

It's about 3 hours roughly (pretty sure) with the Croc stop.

Jaco itself does not have an airport, the closet one is Quepos which is serviced from San Jose via www.natureair.com and www.taca.com (regional SANSA operation). Quepos isn't very close to Jaco and unfortunately has a one lane bridge inbetween the two which can take upto an hour to cross (sometimes longer).

The only other alternative it to hire a private helicopter to shuttle you from San Jose's Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) or Pava's Airport outside of Rhomoser to one of Jaco's make shift helipads. Last time I checked The White House Hotel ( http://www.whitehousecostarica.com/ ) in Escazu, San Jose also had a new service with it's private helipad out to the Los Suenos area of Playa Herradura, which isn't too far from Jaco.

Hope this helps :)

Was that bus ride really three hours? Damn. It did not seem like it but I was also extremely exhausted. :-)

Either way, I thought the ride was very beautiful. I loved the scenery.

Yeah. It was a little scary at times but overall a nice ride. Are you going back this year?

Sly 02-24-2008 09:45 PM

Nah, I'm not much for shows anymore. I have other things keeping me busy.

For me Costa Rica is a way to get away from the things that keep me busy.

Ya that was what I was thinking. Really depends on traffic. If there is an accident or something on the road you are screwed cause of how narrow it is.

I read something about a new road that was supposed to be finished last year, in Tico time is that 2010 ? :upsidedow

JayDeeZee 02-25-2008 09:44 AM

I'm leaving tonight, and making a trip up to Monteverde before the show.

about 4 hrs in SJ (if I have to wait for the interbus) If I can snag a ride or a cheap cab from the airport, I'm going to jump on it.

Any clue on where I catch the interbus in SJ to Monteverde?

Monteverde is beautiful, make sure to go for a Canopy ride and beware from the big bugs. I had a visitor in my hotel room last time i was there, it took us 10 minutes and 50 shoe swings to kill that thing! Can't even figure what it was till now but we had to brake it to kill it!

There are two big bus stations in San Jose, i am not really sure which one you need to go to for Monteverde. Any hotel employee can guide you or even if you stop a cab, Make sure it's one of the red ones, and ask him he will tell you exactly where to go. They had an internet page also but i can't remember it, if i do i'll send you the link.

Jorj 02-25-2008 10:37 AM

I found you some info:

Call that number and ask them for more info if needed.
