Email collection script (optin)

What is a good email collection script (optin), I'd like to put a box on my site so visitors can leave their email to get more info ?

no, stupid fuck... it's called closed looped opt in... i know you were trying to be cute, but this guy is talking serious business (something 99% of the fuckwad posters/surfers here dont have a clue about)...

if you want to be legit, you need to used closed loop opt in which means the user who signs up to your newsletter, site, etc.. needs to confirm that they actually signed up to your site...

example: i go to your site and enter my email address. you, send an email to the email address i entered with a link that i must click to confirm that a) i am the person that entered my email address on your site and b) i wish to receive future emails from you...

any other method is considered spam by the spam nazis and most internet users...

hope this helps....

no, i was responding as if this was a serious thread started by someone who was interested in creating a legitimate email program to communicate with potential customers.

i know you have enough experience with adult to know the difference between a surfer/troll thread versus a legitimate business thread..

i know i post a lot of sarcastic/bullshit posts, but i felt this was a genuine business thread that deserved a genuine answer....

What the hell is wrong if he called that "double opt in" .. it is also the name used in same sense as of closed loop opt in.

I guess he was just confirming the way script is supposed to work.

ChargebackJoe 03-04-2008 10:22 AM

I have a better idea, I'll just put a message, 'To get more information send an email to [email protected] with the word subscribe in the subject'

Altheon 03-04-2008 11:13 AM

PHP List does this and it's free.

ChargebackJoe 03-04-2008 07:38 PM

Just found out that my host does not allow more that 100 emails sent/hour, so I wonder how do those people with 100,000 member lists do it (legally)

GrouchyAdmin 03-04-2008 07:39 PM

Aww, guys, leave marketsmart alone. He didn't try to turn it into a Forex thread!

joeman1 04-23-2008 01:06 PM
