Why do Black People Get tattoo's?
 

everytime i see a black person with tattoos i struggle to make out what the heck they got inked on there neck or arm...not trying to be racist but..why do they even bother?:helpme

You do know that tattoos started in Africa right? So did piercings.....So the question should be, why do WHITE people get tattoos?

the tattos they got back in the day in africa were more designs and patterns that when seen from a small distance stood out as 1 overall piece....not the words "thug-life" tatted on ones belly in some strange font

Tattoos didn't start in Africa, the oldest examples we know of were in Eurasia & Siberia.

There are tons of reasons people get tattoes. Many consider it art. Many wear them as meaningful symbols of life experiences. Some use them as a brand of a group they belong to. There are many reasons people get tattoos. I think the biggest is so people ask "what is that"?

And keep in mind we're talking about ink tattoos, not body mods and scarring.
