Anyone else running their A/C units yet?

in light of all this winter storm talk in the news, you gotta love Phoenix, AZ... barely March and we've had the A/C running most nights already, plus it's only been in the low 80s here... 110s here we come!

I like it warm. I leave the A/C off until once the house is above 80.

Solar panels :) LOL, actually I do have solar panels, but they only cover like $20 per month. I think my house or maybe me is amazingly efficient, we rarely go over $125 (typically like $50), but really have no idea how.

I'll bring you compact flourescent light bulbs at the phx forum :)

for sure, that would be cool :)

you need to pop up to my place sometime too!

BluMedia 03-11-2008 09:22 PM

I have to run mine almost all the time and I live in Colorado. We have tons of windows that face west so our house easily gets over 80 degrees in even colder months.

I like to be warm, too. Which makes for some high heating bills when temps are in the teens.

But, today was the first day I've had the A/C on this year. It was about 80 in North Texas. I think it's supposed to be almost 90 this weekend.

D 03-11-2008 09:51 PM

I'm pretty sure we're running the a/c unit in the office, and other places I'm at during the day... but, by the time I get home (now), the evening's pleasantly cool.

Fap 03-11-2008 10:00 PM

AZ.. figures..

judycash 03-12-2008 01:25 AM

I have mine set to come on at like 83 and it I think is on right now but its vegas!!

DutchTeenCash 03-12-2008 04:06 AM

its like 45 here so nah

gotta love AZ and melting CDs in your car

v4 media 03-12-2008 04:11 AM

80 odd here today, gets up to around 100 in the summer never put the ac on unless I'm melting, about 3-4 times a year, I hate a/c and heating.
windows open in the summer, put a jumper on in the winter, electric bill about $50 a month.

Tylo 03-12-2008 04:17 AM

My A/C is running non stop. It does help that its warm as hell here 90% of the time.. It has been cold 3 times this year down here if you consider low 50's cold.

rowan 03-12-2008 04:21 AM

I'm in the southern hemisphere so the answer is definitely yes. It will hit 38C / 100F tomorrow and I'm stuck in an office with 4 computers powered on 24/7

Jens Van Assterdam 03-12-2008 04:40 AM

its freezin fucking cold over here..

VeriSexy 03-13-2008 12:05 AM

My gas heater is still on :(

Eva PSC 03-13-2008 12:17 AM

snow storms in Toronto..... long before the AC season LOL

fuzebox 03-13-2008 12:34 AM

Man I hate the feeling of AC, I love living in a place that is 72-74F all year round.
