anyone know of a good rename files program?
 

i have like 600 folders with 17 pics in each with assorted names, need them all to be named 1-17. anyone know of a program that can do all 600 folders at once?

fileboss is boss, if you need to get really advanced. or else wildrename is good for quick/basic shit.

the best I've ever seen is TheRename - I set up directory trees with different sets in their own dirs, set the rename rules, choose 'reiterative' and let it rip. It'll do 6000 files in a few seconds..

Just test your settings on a test tree first - I fucked up a lot of files when I first used it :)

Check out 1-4a rename. There is no cost (freeware). Read the section labeled "Numbering/Renumbering" to see if it will do what you want.

ckrename is where it's at

antrenamer (free) but it is pretty easy to make a tiny software for that.
