wrote a song about piracy woes

tell me what you guys thing

sung to the tune of "video killed the radio star" by The Buggles

I saw you on the telly back in 92
Lying awake intent on tuning into you
If it was bad, they never stopped me watching you.
Oh-a Oh
They took the content for your season's DVD
re-written by some geek with new technology
and you get no pay cause it was commercial free

Oh-a Oh
i shared your series
Oh-a oh
why don't you sue me ?
Internet killed the tv show
Internet killed the tv show
Broadband came and stole your heart
Oh-a-a-a Oh

And now we meet in an abandoned studio
We watch the playback and it seems so long ago
And we remember where adverts used to go...

Oh-a Oh
You had a series
Oh-a Oh
And all those Emmys
Internet killed the tv show
Internet killed the tv show
in a line or on wi-fi
We can't go back we've gone too far
Oh-a-a-a Oh
Oh-a-a-a Oh
Internet killed the tv show
Internet killed the tv show

in a line or on wi-fi
We can't go back we've gone too far
Broadband came and stole your heart
Put the blame on PVR

Internet killed the tv show (x10, fade out)
(after 4x) You were the tv show (x5 fade out)

Oh-a oh (x6 fade out) (less)

if you guys like it i have another one i am working for the porn industry

thanks was thinking of releasing it under a modification of the creative common licience so singers, bands could use the song and make money as long as they gave me credit for the song.

with some kind of messages like check out ______.com for solutions that will actually help get paid for your work in this new digital world.

Why would they have to give you credit? Wouldn't it be fair use now ?

And will you be paying royalties on that money earned to The Buggles, or whoever wrote the music?

It's public domain now... I user submitted it to a lyrics website and time shifted its rights to the internet cloud.

The irony of you stealing someone else's music and then thinking you can re-release it under a CC license because you changed the lyrics is very amusing.

And it doesn't even scan. "Internet killed the tele-vis-ion" would be better.

Or you creating something original would be better still.
