Firefox beta 4

After getting my new laptop I was very sad to see that I could only run windows vista, well of course linux but there is a few things I like to do that wine will not run :)

Firefox has always been awesome but was running like shit on Vista!!!

I downloaded firefox 3 beta 4 today and WOW!!!!

I just have to say I am very happy with the direction firefox is going.

The new browser is awesome! I cannot wait to see the final product when I can use add ons!:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

The new Mac version rocks. The design and performance is great. And remember: this is just the beta!

CyberHustler 03-17-2008 03:34 PM

Why IE and FF don't allow you to save tab sessions is beyond me. Oprea browser has that option and has had it for quite some time. It lets you save as many groups of sites in tabs as "sessions".

You can then just open that session and have all the sites you want open up. It's a awesome tool for webmasters and so freaking handy, yet nether FF or IE has caught onto it.

and I don't mean the save "last" like FF offers. Opera lets you set up saved tab sessions that work like bookmarks.

In FF you can make bookmark folders and then just dump all of the sites you want in there and then choose "Open all tabs"... pretty much the same thing.. :thumbsup

Almost all plugins I had installed on FF2, work find on FF3 and they not need to be rewritten. Just a small change in the install.rdf file and it the plugin becomes a 100% FF3-compatible one :thumbsup

DeNovo 03-19-2008 02:53 PM

Did they solve FF's memory leak problems?

Michaelious 03-19-2008 03:06 PM

Never really used it myself, might take a look.

just found an easier way:

Quote:

Make Your Extensions Work with the Firefox 3 Beta 4

* Type about:config into Firefox's address bar and click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button.
* Right-click anywhere. Choose New>Boolean. Make the name of your new config value "extensions.checkCompatibility" and set it to false.
* Make another new boolean pair called "extensions.checkUpdateSecurity" and set the value to false.
* Restart Firefox.

Try the Tab Mix Plus add-on. It does all you want and more.
