Supposed to drive better than a Porsche 911...

Too bad I don't have such amounts of money for cars anyway :)

Yeah its a nice car, its a $70k car. its freaking USD$140,000 here in Australia

FARK THAT! I so love USA car prices, you guys are so lucky.

I wanted to buy a Ford GT Mustang 2007 and there US$50,000 or so in America. I call up our Australian branch and there US$130,000 for the most basic model.

Matt

Ravage 03-19-2008 05:59 AM

Yea, it's pretty sweet! I grabbed some pics of it at the Toronto AutoShow. If I remember tonight, I'll post some up :)

The Skyline has been around for a long time. I'm glad they are finally bringing it over the USA.

The only thing that's unattractive is the size.. the car is monstrous, like Ford Mustang sized. For people who are into long, low and wide.. this one's definitely not for you.

It is a technical marvel though - from what I've read it's easy to drive scary fast - and the level of control and customization you have is unparalled (from ride adjustment, throttle response, custom info displays, etc).

Slots into a nice price segment, it offers a completely unique driving experience for that kind of money.

Xrated J 03-19-2008 08:31 AM

that thing is pretty slick

I was wondering about that Steve, have not seen it in person. I will have to go and check it out when they get to the show room. I am definetly into the low and sleek. Love the specs an the reviews on the car though:thumbsup

It's really, really big.. I was astounded at the size of the thing. It's closer in size to your magnum (not as long and not a wagon though :1orglaugh) than say a sports car like a 911 or a vette.

Martin 03-19-2008 08:41 AM

Very nice looking whip.

crockett 03-19-2008 08:46 AM

I think it looks like a cross between a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Celica.. I like the current version better I think. Maybe if I see it in real life might be diffrent.

hmmmmm , want to see it, Thought it might be large by doing the virtual drive. Then I thought it could be the same size as the new Audi, (which is sold out) Its too bad I didnt go to the auto show this year:(

It's almost identically sized as the A5/S5 (in inches)
length 182.1 vs 183 (GT-R)
width 73 vs 74 (GT-R)
height 53.9 vs. 53.9 (GT-R)

It 'feels' bigger compared to the A5 because of the slab-sided design and the high shoulder. THe A5s sheetmetal fits like... a pair of pantyhose or stetchy yoga pants.. the GT-Rs sheetmetal feels like it's a suit of armour.

So I could be a Knight in shiny armour ?:Oh crap

WarChild 03-19-2008 09:07 AM

It's an impressive car for sure.

If you were actually considering a nice GT type car.. the S5 is sexy as hell. The GT-R is boy-racer.. playstation in real life... although, just upgrading to the new XKR would be pretty sweet.. like a baby aston.

Mike Dutch 03-19-2008 09:11 AM

nice car , pretty fast

Mustang GT BASE model is $25k RETAIL or in better words, $25k OUT THE DOOR by time you get the "price" down to where it belongs. tack on about $5k to go with the convertible.

$50k area is only the Shelby Mustang GT500 (POS) spend $40k and get a base vette with Z51 package and you'll beat that GT500 in every possible race. Yeah the Mustang may win at the drag strip but take that saved $10k and force some air into that engine ;)

Catalyst 03-19-2008 09:23 AM

it looks really nice

juz 03-19-2008 09:23 AM

love the performance numbers but the car is hideous looking

this thing is a total beast. not to mention the insane amount of aftermarket goodies theyll put out for this thing.
only thing that sucks is the whole integrated turbo / exhaust mani.

Paper Billy 03-19-2008 09:48 AM

Spunky 03-19-2008 09:53 AM
