Help needed - should be interesting for most of you!!

Hey guys,

Some of you might know I am working on a Piracy area. This panel will spider warez forum posts for porn hosted at rapidshare and other filehosters. Webmasters will be able to have an account with certain keywords so they can see all their content which has been illegally uploaded and can report this to the host easily through a prewritten email.

However, I am looking for some beta testers. The coding is going well, isnt completed by far yet but its spidering some forums atleast. I could also do with some lists of big warez forums, I currently only have 3 in the system. So please reply about being a beta tester. Warez forums, not sure if we can mention them here or not. If not, please mail me: sam.granger [at] gmail.com

bump for sam

Sam Granger 03-28-2008 07:10 PM

That was a quick bump, thanks tony404.

And for those wondering, this service will be and will remain 100% free.

I'd beware with bragging about this all over the net.

The people who support piracy are not nice people.

So we should run and hide while criminals do whatever the fuck they like?

Not a chance.

I'm not afraid of them, and I hate seeing hard work pirated. Screw them, and this is the only real way to get people. Thanks for the concern though :).

farkedup 03-28-2008 07:53 PM

all of the big warez boards are on hosts that won't give a shit so whats the point?

Sam Granger 03-28-2008 08:05 PM

Farkedup, my application will spider each forum. Most forums dont host their videos, but people upload them to rapidshare and other filesharing servers. These sites take down illegal content on their servers when reported.

papill0n 03-28-2008 08:05 PM

BTW Sam - all the best with what you are doing here.

Sam Granger 03-28-2008 08:06 PM

Thanks :). Hope my reply was clear enough. If any other people have questions or concerns, please post them. :)

Sam Granger 03-29-2008 05:22 AM

Thanks, the spider is picking up a lot of content guys! Hope some of you will be willing to give this thing a try :(.

slapass 03-29-2008 07:05 AM

I like the idea. Use tech to make the counter movement to piracy easy to enforce.

Would I have any legal problems doing so do you think?

hungry hungry hippy 03-29-2008 07:22 AM

i'm not a lawyer but you would be wasting and abusing resources.

you got bigger things to worry about aside from that... like payd2purv said: you could find your servers melting if you stir up the hornets nest

Chris 03-29-2008 07:28 AM

what will ya do when they ban your spider from the servers?
spend moreon a new network/server??

Even if it means I have to check each forum manually, I will. We cant let these little fucks win.

Sam Granger 03-30-2008 07:10 PM

Only 1 beta tester signed up so far... Anyone else interested?

chelo - adultcopywriters 03-31-2008 08:08 PM

Good luck on it, but frankly its like herding cats. If you have programming background or can get people able to do such. Find ways to KEEP content secure in a way that does not offend the consumer, and is easy for webmasters to integrate into their members areas. Ive thrown out several ideas for this, and no one has yet to say it cannot be done. Pitched one idea to someone already and they are working on seeing if its possible. If you stop the floodgates or at least slow them to a trickle it will make it much easier to shut down all the pirating.

Does your idea have to do with license info with videos and ms servers? Ifso, I am working on something like that.

No mine has to do with auto overlaying a watermark for each video downloaded. Where it puts a code right on the video itself. Code would be able to be traced back to the member that downloaded the video. Go after the person that released the video into the wild. Could be my idea wont work, but my point is that is where the focus needs to be. We cant do a system where the end user needs to do something special to watch or save the video. Ok thats fine. What if we do a system where anyone caught releasing copyrighted material gets either sued or a system is worked out with the processors where people get blackballed from buying porn if caught sharing? More than one way (yes Im using a cat analogy again) to skin a cat. If some of the companies that have non compete upsells would put their focus on this it could be quite lucrative. Say a webcam or dating program developed such a tool and gave it away free with the provision that the members area using it must have an upsell for their product. :winkwink:

Nice idea. :thumbsup

However, how can you prove that nobody 'hacked' their accounts?

subc 04-22-2008 11:23 PM

I see a few problems with this idea.

Take the piratebay for example, a place where you can find anything. From big and small companies, from music to images, videos and applications. anything.

And yet, not even direct stabs from the MPAA, the RIAA, Microsoft and other big names have been able to shut them down by legal means.

I am not targetting torrents. I'm targetting megaupload, rapidshare etc...

BuggyG 04-23-2008 07:08 AM
