Will Germany Rule The World One Day ?

No...

We tried that and it didnt work, but who will be the most important country in the next 10 years?
Of couse we all know its now the USA ..Russia would like it to be them but that will never happen ..I think China ?

Your thoughts ?

who 04-04-2008 12:24 AM

I think the EU collectively will be more powerful than any of the traditional power countries.

justsexxx 04-04-2008 12:42 AM

China and India. They are taking over bankshares and big industrial companies like crazy...

XSecurityAudit 04-04-2008 12:49 AM

I think India will surprise a lot of people with time to come. China has power but they can't reach superpower status, same with Russia.

EU as a collective will be bad ass.

After Shock Media 04-04-2008 01:00 AM

Next ten years? USA.
Japan, Canada, South Korea, Mexico and the European Union are under US umbrella.
Oil-rich Middle East under US umbrella.
Russia, Brazil are Third World nations, and China/India are closed civilizations.

Bossman 04-04-2008 05:01 AM

There will be no states or goverments in control. The increase in information changes everything, and old monopolies are replaced with freedom as people realize thru the information that reality is without rulers, rules and boundaries, because they are just abstraction from our subjective self.

We have always been living in anachy, control is just an abstraction... :2 cents:

ADL Colin 04-04-2008 05:03 AM

In 10 years still USA overall with China and EU growing.

China, USA and EU as economic equals in 40 years. China quite possibly a military equal or approaching it at that point.

In 60 years India joins the game.

Possibility of one asian currency and a more integrated economy at some point is a wildcard.

cardinalvices 04-04-2008 05:10 AM

Germany is good. But Europe is on the fast track to hell with all these work time cuts and strikes for higher wages. Its strange that you can't go to a supermarket in Germany on Sunday. I mean this is the best period of time to go shopping, why would it be closed?

papill0n 04-04-2008 05:22 AM

I can't see it changing from the US anytime soon.

Germans are fucking smart. And they care about stuff.

When I lived there, I'd see local Germans out sweeping the sidewalk and curb in front of their houses every Saturday morning, making sure their area was tidy. Then I'd cross the Rhine to go into Strasbourg and have to watch where I step for all the dog shit.

usa and europe share the same origion so they have a bond there that none of the other big nations have. If Europe was in trouble USA would help, if USA really was in trouble Europe will help. I mean even if russia and china would be allie, their pact can be broken for several reasons... Europe and USA are like brothers, even if they dont agree on everything, if one of them gets really in trouble the other will step in. I dont see that with any of the other big nations... thats why USA will probably be the biggest for a long time.

tranza 04-04-2008 08:14 AM

China + India will own more that 50% of the world's GNP by 2030.

They will rule the world.

I think thats a good estimate Vick ,I wouldnt count out Russia totally though as they have vast resources and even Putin commented that things are looking good for them now due to the oil crisis etc.

Socks 04-05-2008 01:43 AM

I see very little upside for the USA in the next 10 years, there just won't be the year over year snowball growth of the past few decades, and the american economy relies on this.

We all know the USA is headed down a scary path in the short term, why does everyone here think that 10 years from now it be peaches and icecream?

Russia controls most of Europe's natural gas, which heats homes, and rises with oil prices. They've already built large country-to-country pipelines to distribute their gas, and plan to continue their massive pipelines in a tree of sorts from Russia as far as to England, and Scandinavian countries, and also to the south.

They should see tremendous economic growth over the next few decades I believe, and also Putin really built the country back up during his term. Since he basically or did appoint the new guy, I'd expect he's still running things essentially too.

Let alone what is power?

If its the ability to make choices and/or influence outcomes, then power is eroding from the states/goverments and building up at the individual... its have gotten to a point where western politians are not leaders but administrators, which I can not see a different outcome for in other parts of the world going towards free markets etc.

Question is when people will get out of the projected state group-think, which in its current form is only a few hundred years old, and find that people are more divided/connetced by philosophy, than by the old abstractions of states/countries.

DirtyProfits 04-05-2008 05:48 AM

China will be the next superpower. The infrastructure and the fact that Communists make the decisions there gives them an advantage over India for example. While pre-1978 China had seen annual growth of 6 percent a year (with some painful ups and downs along the way), post-1978 China saw average real growth of more than 9 percent a year with fewer and less painful ups and downs. In several peak years, the economy grew more than 13 percent. Per capita income has nearly quadrupled in the last 15 years, and a few analysts are even predicting that the Chinese economy will be larger than that of the United States in about 20 years. Such growth compares very favorably to that of the "Asian tigers"--Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan Province of China--which, as a group, had an average growth rate of 7-8 percent over the last 15 years.

Certainly economic power is locally superseding the concept of state; especially where you live. However it is alive and well in the US, China, Japan and elsewhere. NAFTA certainly hasn't prompted much discussion of one currency or the kind of integration the EU has had.

In military power NATO and the security council have had only limited ability to coordinate and act as the state actors behind the organizations are still dominant.

As far as political power, it is mostly still attached to states with the addition of the UN.

I guess "when" is a good question on that but it might be 1000 years as well as 100.

Untill the collapse of the Soviet Union there were two Super Powers in existence. In years to come there may be other Super Powers come to the forefront but the US will still remain as being one of the Super Powers.

KILL_FRENZY 04-05-2008 01:49 PM

China for sure

The Judge 04-05-2008 01:49 PM

Germans are talented but evil, especially the Southern ones. As soon as the the generations that remember WWII disappear, they are likely to start trouble again, their land and resources cannot support such a large population. That is why it is still important to keep US troops there.

GrouchyAdmin 04-05-2008 01:54 PM

You've had your chance.

Drake 04-05-2008 02:04 PM

Next 10 years? US will still be on top.

It's impossible to tell what will happen in the long term. China or India could very well become so called world leaders, but it's difficult to imagine that happening without tremendous cultural changes taking place within those nations - little things called private property, individual/human rights, religious tolerance, and freedom of the press.

Russia and Germany have shrinking populations and lost their hegemony some time ago. The EU as a collective will maintain power for some time just like the US. I doubt we'll see the power change in our lifetime.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 04-05-2008 02:20 PM

like someone has already said earlier in the thread. it has nothing to do with the power of nations and everything to do with power families and their ties. the people who run all of our countres could really give a fuck less about any of their countrymen or their country. just lining their own bank accounts and furthering their own power. what you will continue to see (or more likely , not see) are more tied made between rich americans and rich middle eastern families.

all in all, alot of power will remain in the usa, but that power is going to continue to cost the american people heavily. but that's ok, because even the american people don't seem to give a fuck about the wellbeing of the american people.
