The best Eastwood movie ever made?

Has to be The Outlaw Josey Wales for me :thumbsup

Laura Lee: Kansas was all golden and smelled like sunshine.
Josey Wales: Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas, sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

In a DVD frame of mind this weekend, dumb Aussie cold weather.

I really liked unforgiven.

Does ones he only directed also count?

Then he did do a pretty damn good job in the bridges of Madison county.

CunningStunt 04-04-2008 02:51 AM

Hmmm, good question.

Only ones he's acted in pls.

Jake the King 04-04-2008 03:57 AM

All those monkey movies!!!

Bdiddy 04-04-2008 04:08 AM

For a Few Dollars More...hands down

Any of the "man with no name" trilogy is pretty damn good, but thats my favorite. Sergio leone was a fuckin prince

Gunni 04-04-2008 04:10 AM

I'd say unforgiven

Unforgiven is definitely up there.

It's going to really piss off the wife coming back with 3 Clint movies :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Dirty Harry

CarlosTheGaucho 04-04-2008 05:26 AM

Well that's pretty tough, I was raised on Eastwood and I can't tell..

The Good The Bad and the ugly would be my favourite western, but then again WHO is bigger in the western genre after the John Wayne era than Clint? Unforgiven would be one great anti hero western in my book too..

Dirty Harry - can't get wrong with that one, I guess i have seen all the Dirty Harry movies and I suspect myself from seeing them even more than once.

From his latest work - Million Dollar Baby was kind of touching, I wouldn't expect such a theme to have such depth, just brilliantly made movie.

As the least typical movie he ever made as a director - that would have to be his flick about Charlie Parker with Forrest Whitaker, I guess it was called "The Bird" and it was a great movie for those who know a bit about the bird.

TimCase 04-04-2008 05:33 AM

High Plains Drifter.

If anyone says "The Gauntlet" or "Honkeytonk Man" they should be banned.

Not too far behind would be The Beguiled however.

Hang 'em High is one of my favourites.

I agree, the rape scene was a shocker for its time. His best for sure.

Michaelious 04-04-2008 06:57 AM

Revenge of the Creature lol!!!

But seriously Every Which Way But Loose is my favourite Eastwood movie.

Good the Bad The Ugly and Josey Wales.

"The way I figure, there's really not too much future with a sawed-off runt like you. "

Bounty hunter #1: You're wanted, Wales.
Josey Wales: Reckon I'm right popular. You a bounty hunter?
Bounty hunter #1: A man's got to do something for a living these days.
Josey Wales: Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy.

Clint rules, have every western he did on dvd.

Unforgiven might be the best movie EVER, not just his best movie.

Peaches 04-04-2008 12:15 PM

Does he have to be in them? Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of our Fathers were two of my favorites he directed.

SykkBoy 04-04-2008 12:19 PM

Starring - Heartbreak Ridge, with a shout out to Pale Rider :)
Directing - Letters From Iwo Jima and Flags Of Our Fathers

farkedup 04-04-2008 12:20 PM

wouldn't the list be shorter if we just tried to pick out his BAD movies?

Brother Bilo 04-04-2008 12:21 PM

Clint Eastwood has to be longest running bad ass in movie history. Josey Wales is definetely up there, but there can't be a best ever. Too hard to classify.

aico 04-04-2008 12:22 PM

Shane, err Pale Rider

Martin 04-04-2008 12:46 PM

The best scene in a western ever.

From what I have seen, I'm gonna have to go with Unforgiven, as well. What a great movie that was.
