That's almost as ridiculous as Walmart's claim over the yellow smiley-face as its own trademark (which was rejected by a federal court earlier this month).

It could happen, you know the drawing of the bag of money with the money symbol on it. Gene Simmons trademarked it and the word axe as musician's use it to describe a bass or guitar. both have been around forever and he trademarked both.
