Just had my creditcard charged by 12xgay.com.. and it seems
Just had my creditcard charged by 12xgay.com..
Straight as I am, I never did make this purchase myself, however, the password used is one I would usually use.. The biller is netbiller.com, but somehow a site named http://www.aro-tech.com/ comes into the picture.. this site, like 12xgay.com, seems shady... So, it seems like some database with passwords + creditcards has been hacked/stolen/abused/sold whatever... Another option is that a program is cross selling to this site using a hidden form (read : illegally) ... not sure if that is even possible |
That's not good/...
|
12xgay sounds like a site from 12clicks
|
Had my identity stolen some years ago and i ended up paying a couple grand for nothing. Take action now, before its getting worse.
|
google it, second link shows a bunch of other 12x domains ... including 12xcash.com
|
Yeah, it seems like a site from 12clickscash, but the is not in their site list...
And something else I noticed... 12clickscash owns http://12xgangbang.com/ ... but another site with an s in the end also exists .. http://12xgangbangs.com/ I have a feeling that something is having a little fraud business going on here using 12clickscash's name |
My :2 cents:
Call the merchant and ask them the exact date/minute that they processed your transaction and what ip they have associated with the purchase. Compare this information to what you were doing at that time, and your ip. If you weren't online and the ip isn't yours, alert them to the fact that it's a fraudulent transaction, and you'll be charging back - maybe they'll refund and save you the trouble of paperwork. Call your bank, alert them to an impending credit or the fact that you're contesting the validity of a charge, cancel the card, and get issued another. Filing a police report (or "incident report") in these instances is never out of order, either. If you were online, or if it's the same ip (or an ip in your area), ask yourself how drunk you actually were that night. Either way, stop buying shit on Ebay with your credit card over the Starbucks wifi. :) And Good luck. |
D,
Thanks for the advice. Already cancelled the card and ordered a new one. |
Had you ordered anything else online in the past few days/weeks? I've had mine ripped off before and something similar done to it.
Most likely it's a guy trying to commit fraud through 12clickscash.com program. A lot of PPS programs have to deal with this kind of fraud and guys plugging in stolen credit cards. They probably picked the 12xgay.com site to make you less likely to charge it back. In the old days CC thieves would just run up thousands in credit card charges. Now they just run a small transaction through every few months and hope it slips under the radar. |
guys, if you checked whois you'd see the site 12xgay.com is actually owned by 12clicks
and if you read GFY carefully, you'd know he's always looking for cross sales...... |
could it be a hidden cross sale from another site you joined?

:Oh crap
|
12xgay.com is 100% a 12clickscash site.
The 2257 link on the site goes to: http://www.12clickscash.com/2257.php So that makes that easy. |

What sites did you sign up for in the days leading up to this charge? If it was a hidden trial or something there would be a delay in the charge.
