In this era of free porn, many surfers are reluctant to pull out their credit cards UNLESS they perceive a real VALUE. That means, 15 scenes or so just aren't going to cut it anymore. Surfers want access to a multiplicity of niches and expect the ability to SEARCH and FIND the precise SUB-NICHE they are looking for. Surfers have also become more aware, and have grown very leery of, deceptive billing practices such as hidden cross sales. When asked, surfers indicated that they find a greater level of SAFETY in BIG BRAND NAMES, because they think that such higher visibility companies are more regulated by the FTC and other government agencies. Some interesting stats:

90% of surfers say they trust PORN.COM over other adult brands.

88% of surfers would prefer to find one source for all their porn needs.

82% are more likely to use their credit card on PORN.COM because they perceive it to be a reliable and safe company.

79% think PORN.COM is easier to use than most adult sites.


Based on a survey of 2140 respondents. Margin of error + - 4%.

I conducted the survey via an email questionnaire of PORN.COM customers. To be sure, there might be some favorable sample bias in light of the fact that they are already customers who have been re-billed longer than 2 months (and must therefore be reasonably happy.) But the idea was to learn what factors went into their decision to become a PORN.COM member and stay a PORN.COM member.
I minored in stats at University so I tried to design a fair survey that would get reasonably accurate opinions of my representative sample: satisfied customers.
