and from somebody who actually knows what the domain should be worth and is trustworth - so i don't end up bidding against them or their associates?

that's what i want to know - as Porn Mogul posted there are many factors i'm sure - type-in's being a major factor. the domain I'm interested in I doubt is a super premium domain as far as type-in's go but extremely brandable in adult and in mainstream.

Also you can get free estimates at NamePros.com from the other members of their website ... although the owners tend to turn their nose up to adult domain names, so make sure you post in the appropriate adults only section if you do go there looking for help.

There is also the automated (free) ones at Estibot.com ... oh and dnscoop.com as well. They aren't obviously real reliable but fun to check out nonetheless. :)

www.estibot.com has gotten a lot more accurate.

hmmmmmmm - estibot came up with $210,000 for this domain and that's just about what I think it's worth.

A domain is worth what someone else is willing to pay...

With that said, appraisals by others can help determine one's expectations / price-point to aim for.

But again, the actual price a domain will sell for will vary widely depending on the motivations of the parties, sales approach, timing, luck, etc.

yes he knows a lot about domain values - but i'm thinking of buying this domain - if i get advice from somebody like him there's nothing I can do to stop him from bidding against me if he thinks it's a good investment.
