How do you know who your REAL friends are?
 

I had one of those days, where the final question at the end of the day is this:
How do you know who your TRUE friends are?


I think your friends are the ones that are around during the bad times as much as the good. The ones that know your flaws but look past them. The ones that you can cry in front of, cuz they are crying too. The ones that celebrate your lifes victories like it was their own.

What is your definition of a real friend?

IMO you hit the nail, that's pretty much my defination.

Ive found out a lot about this subject lately, and that includes family members.

A true friend is hard to find,have many acquaintances but sadly not many people I can actually trust and call friends

Real friends aren't the ones that you get arrested with at 3 am. Real friends are the ones who drag their ass out of bed an hour later to bail you out.

Real friends seem to be something you only really have when you're young.

My best friend has been wonderful to me! I am very picky about who I let into my life, and if their in my life, they know everything about me. I think that's my scorpio nature.

Everyone has flaws, but we have clicked since the 1st grade, and I grew up with her 12 person family since. Today I find out that she lost the love of her life and her 7 yr old daughter will gorw up without her dad. She will be taking a trip here soon, and I will mold her back to normal. Why? because she would do the same for me. I love her!

Real friends are the ones that you can go to with any problem, with any situation, and instead of saying "oh man, that really sucks" they say "okay, let's take care of it."

Real friends do not offer lip service. They offer real service.

Real friends you can trust with anything. Money, secrets, stories, etc.

Real friends take care of your responsibilities when you can't.

And it may sound strange or impolite... but, real friends you don't need to say please and thank you with. You just do and they just do not because you want to and not because they want to but just because it must be done and it needs to be done. That bond goes beyond simple conversation tokens like please and thank you... it is an unspoken appreciation and respect.

Real friends do not judge you, no matter what you tell them. They better your life, they are there for you regardless of the situation. If you get stranded at 3AM and you call and wake them they say "i'm on my way you stupid fucker" if your partner/gf/bf leaves you and you call at 2am sad as hell they say let's go get a drink and talk about it.

They better your life, and they do not embarrass when you tell them you deepest secret and it's not an uncomfortable situation.

You tell them you are filing for bankruptcy, if you hear from them any day after that, they are your real friend

Well for starters, real friends don't lie and steal from you, and then try to buy you off with gifts, in order to try and have you help cover up their misdeeds.

a good friend helps you move. A great friend helps you move a body.

I agree with you and I will also add that a friend is someone who always speaks highly of you when you are not around. They will defend you when you are not around even when you do something stupid. Loyalty is everything to me, and for some reason I have had a hard time finding a true friend like that. I always get the ones who would rather bash me to people because they want the person who is in front of them at the moment to think they are funny or cool. Or they twist situations around to make me look bad because they are upset or hurt with something that happened.

A friend is someone who wants you to look good and will do whatever they can to help you look your best. They want you to shine and will be there in every way they can. Also a person you can share you deepest secrets with and even if you get into an argument or fight with your friend you will hold that friend close to you and their secrets safe with you too. I don?t think anyone truly becomes close until they have had their first fight. haha You have to be comfortable enough to be able to tell each other whatever you think and that can cause arguments, but with a friend they are just that, an argument not a judgment against you as a person. A friend is also someone who will lie for you, if needed, to help protect your honor. They will make the effort to learn who you are enough to know what you would need to make whatever life throws at you better. Loyalty and respect are the two main ingredients to me. When I have a friend I am very loyal and I will always defend their honor and do what I can to make them the best they can, like I stated above!

friends are friends. some friendships last and some don't. enjoy the times that are good and hope it stays that way.

im reminded everyday about the kind of friends i have when i look at the 30 different keys on my key ring to all their different properties. i know if anything ever happens to me ill be taken care of. i truly do have great friends and i wouldn't trade anything for that.

but i always knew i would be ok. i don't fuck people over. i pay my debts, i don't fuck with their women, and i help them out when they need it most. thats more than i can say about a lot of people. it's all about character, very few people have any.

it's harder to make real friends when you are an adult - simply because of time/priority issues. most people will say their best friends are from grade school, high school or college - those are the days when you have time to really get to know somebody like they are family. they see the real you and you see the real them - warts and all - time spent doing nothing other than spending time together.

i do think occassionally as an adult even without all that time you got to develop your friendships as a kid they can become real friends - the same way you can meet the right woman/man for a romantic relationship and just know almost instantly. rare though.

i don't think its possible to have more real friends in life than you can count on one hand. maybe some very social people can extend that to a second hand.

The friend who calls you to go for a drink when your having a bad day, you didn't tell him but he just knows. The ones who are there all the time, refuse to go away even if you want them to. I have lots of friends, but i only have 5 or 6 REALLY good friends.

Call someone at 4 in the morning....if they are there for you...they are a real friend
