Find a model you like
Then google it
Find the cheapest place to buy it
Then google the company for complaints
Purchase TV

I purchased a Sony 40 LCD in December and saved 300 dollars this way. Also, no sales tax.

Go for best (and still for good price) - Panasonic Viera, take some of new models. These are true HD (not only resolution for static stuff, but computing power to play HD movies in full resolutions (tons of slightly cheaper TVs does something like 600x400 or slightly more).

MOst TVs "FullHD" mark is bullshit. Do researche and take real FullHD

It seems that you can get a pretty big price break going for one of these brand names you've never heard of before, like LD and Broksonic. I wonder how much of a difference there really is when it comes to comparably speced HDTVs of varying brand names. I know that whenever I am at CircuitCity or BestBuy I always tend to gravitate to the big TV department. The image quality of the big brand names seems just as good to me when next to one of not so big of a name. I know there are more factors involved than image quality, such as longiviety, jacks in the back, etc.

I'd really like to just go for a Sony, Pioneer, or Samsung, but if there's no real differences I would consider going either way here.

What do you guys think?

YES.

I picked up a Sony Bravia 40" earlier this year, the picture is awesome. You'll need a decent sound system with pretty much any tv you buy these days. Not sure why speakers are so shite.

because the same companies produce the home-theater systems

pr0, do yourself a favor and get the larger tv rather than the smaller one.

i went with a 42" samsung lcd, and it's decent, but now that i have had it for a couple months, i wish i would have went with the 50".

camgirlshide 04-26-2008 08:47 AM

I paid $750 at Sears for my Hitachi 1080P 43" Plasma about 1 year ago.
I'm looking for a 32" LCD now and they are coming in at about the same price. I can't stand to spend almost the same for a 32" 720P/1080i that I spent for the 43" 1080P

Haha, yes. People thought I was nuts when I bought a 60 inch. My thought was, if I went for the 50 inch I would only find myself thinking "why didn't I go 60".

Although I do have a 37 inch for my bedroom and it's the perfect size. I think for my office I may even drop down to a 32 inch when I'm ready to get one.

when i was getting mine, i figured 42 would be more than enough for my living room, but in retrospect, tv's are like tits. a nice perky b cup is a great thing, and nothing to complain about, but it's better to have some d's nearly smothering you. :winkwink:
