GTA 4 running in 1080p ?? Does It Look good ??
I've got GTA 4 for my Xbox 360 and running it on a 52 inch 1080p tv, it looks a kinda grainy while on my son's tube tv, it looks perfect.
I do have a PS3 version sitting here because I was originally gonna keep the PS3 one for me and give my kids the 360 version until I realized that on the 360 version there's also co-op, so I figured I'd pick up a 360 version for me and sell my PS3 version. WELL, since the game is a little on the grainy side on my tv, I'm tempted to open the PS3 version and see if it's clearer, however, I'd hate to open it only to find the same exact look, ha ha. I know in the past, there's been some issues with my 360 games that are supposedly 1080p where they don't look that great. I just figured I'd ask on here for a little imput. Yes, my 360 settings are for 1080p. |
Neither version is 1080P.
The 360 is 720P with 2 x anti aliasing The PS3 is 630P with no anti aliasing If you have them set to higher than those resolutions, it just upscales. So, you will be testing which machine has the better upscaler :) Hope that helps. |
Hey Damian, thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I guess I'm better off just sticking with the 360 version then. It does piss me off though because this is next generation and a game like GTA, you'd think would be fully 1080p.

And yes, real 1080P would be nice, but the consoles just aren't up to it. Either of them. There is just too much going on in the world to render that much that quick at that resolution. Still, despite that, it is a fun game, although quite flawed. Here is a round up of the negative things about the game, just to balance out the hype. http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/29/ne...theft-auto-iv/ |
