Borrowed $5 bill from my friend at the casino tonight, told him I would pay him 1/2 of whatever I won... he wanted his 1/2 when I hit $600, gave him the $300, went home later with $900 in my pocket.

nice job man! You have to get lucky fast then start to roll. Last time I played blackjack was at foxwoods. First 10 hands I played the dealer hit blackjack 7/10 times :disgust. I felt bad for the dude sitting next to me, he kept getting spitting hands and double down hands.

I was playing Texas Hold-Em at one of the local card rooms here in Washington.

The stakes were 12 - 24 and I bought in with $500, ran into a couple of bad beats and got down to $6 (which equates to the small blind). I jokingly told the table that all I needed to bust everyone at the table were those $6

5 hours later, and I shit you not, I cashed out $3200.00 from those same $6 :)

If the dealer gets blackjack then you can't lose more than your original bet, so splitting and doubling wouldn't matter. Usually the dealer always checks their hole card so you'd never be able to split and double anyway.

I dropped $50 on a carribean table a couple of months ago, my first hand for the night, got 4 of a kind Aces and the dealer got 2 pair. Can't complain on the start of that evening :)
