My mom just made me feel bad.
 

I know she doesn't know it, but damn, I am going to have to do something about this.

Called her to wish her a happy birthday, like the good(?) son I am. In the course of the conversation I asked if she had anything special planned for tonight.

She is going with my dad to one of those dinners where they try to sell you on financial planning or something like that!

When I mentioned that sounded "special" she laughed and said it was free.

I think I am going to have to just take them out for a nice dinner somewhere. They are such penny pinchers I can't believe it. I bet it has been a while since they went somewhere more upscale than TGIF's.
