this could be the start of something big
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Through a partnership announced Tuesday, Yahoo! will incorporate the McAfee Site Advisor malware scanning program into its search engine. The companies expect the joint venture to eliminate illicit websites from Yahoo! search results. Yahoo! said it also will flag dodgy sites in an effort to advise users of reported problems. "Warning: Unsolicited E-mails" and "Warning: Dangerous Downloads" are among the warning messages. Firefox Add On, Site Advisor's main product, provides similar warnings. It is comparable to Haute Secure and has been downloaded 135 million times, according to McAfee. The new feature for Yahoo! search users is optional, but the default setting is "on." http://www.avn.com/internet/articles/30087.html |
Wow, if anyone actually used Yahoo that would be big news.

There's going to be a lot of collateral damage, there have been a lot of "insert" type hacks lately where webmasters have malicious code added to their HTML. WMs may get redlisted at Yahoo without even realising their sites are installing zombieware.

good shit...

is google at the point of labelling any site that has zango ads on it as "potentially harmful"
