Testing sponsors
 

I signed up to a dating sponsor a couple of days ago and began testing it today.

Basically I grabbed the link, and told 4 friends to use it to sign up for the free trial (I'm testing the pay per free). I got credit for the clicks, but only one sale.

I know people shave, but 3 out of 4? :(

I guess 4 sales on 4 clicks would look pretty fishy. If one of our affiliates has that kind of activity I might consider disabling them until I got a further clarification.

That doesn't explain why they didn't show up though .... good luck figuring it out.

It should show up automatically, even they wouldn't pay you based on 4 clicks-4 sales. Who is this sponsor?

Maybe they dont credit you foreign traffic..

Were all friends from the same area?

might have tripped some sort of fraud monitor

The site pays you money for sending a surfer who signs up without spending anything.

You send 4 friends and they all signed up and never spent any money.

The sponsor only paid you on one.

Fuck can people spam me with sites that do similar programs. I get paid for getting friends to sign up and not spend money.

Most fraud systems I know would flag that. I think a lot of us that work with free models have people getting their 'friends' to sign up all the time.

Most dating sponsor wont pay you untill the profile is verified..

They have to click on the verification link in their email to be considered a free profile!
(To prevent fraud and scammers)
or

They have to complete their profile also.
(To prevent fraud)

When all that is done, depending on the sponsor.

You can count it has a free signup...

Exactly. It's a good way to know if this kind of stuff will be done, even when you're not behind it.

It's not like I pasted the link in my Facebook account and asked 300+ people to sign up. I'm talking about 4 friends to test out the system. Got the 4 clicks, only 1 free signup.

I just talked to one of their reps and he's looking into it.

A free signup is when someone follows your link, fills out the form, and later confirms the link on the email. That is a free signup.

A fraudulent free signup is when you try to beat the system for personal gain.

I never intented to beat the system. All I wanted to do was run a quick test to see if the sponsor I was about to use was shaving. I generated links and passed them out to a rather controllable sample of 4 people in different countries.

If the system had detected fraud on my end, it is the sponsor's responsability to contact me and ask me about the situation, not shave the signups without warning or notice. I have not recieved one single line of text asking why my link attracted 4 uniques and 4 signups. Until now, all I have is a quiet shave.

Were you going to get paid on these free sign ups or do you get paid when they spend money?

If it's the former you were shaving them as I'm sure they don't allow you to get paid for sending friends. If it's the latter you have a case that the 4 sign ups did not show and right that the program should tag you as a possible cheat either way. Not accusing you but 4 uniques & 4 sign ups is fishy.

If I were to get paid for them, I'd be making a grand total of 6 dollars. Not really my idea of a profitable scam, especially when compared to the hundreds I can make for them and me when I throw serious traffic to that same link. Besides, how can I collect 6 bucks when the minimum payout is $100?

Again, if my traffic pattern was fishy, then they should contact me and ask me what's up with that, not shave me automatically without any notice.
