ou have 30 seconds to answer this 3rd grade math question for $5000.
Y This was from "Are you smarter than a 5th grader"
No paper/pencil or calculator. Just in your head. If a pound of peanuts cost 48 cents, how much does 5/8th of a pound of peanuts cost? |
30 cents
6 cents per 1/8 |
30 fuck i know to much about eigths.
Unless i went wrong in head. |
Divide 48cents by 8, than x that number by 5. Am I wrong? 30 cents, not hard to do in your head. But if you haven't done math in a while, sometimes these things trip you up easily.

48 - 1 pounds 48 - 8/8 pounds 24 - 4/8 pounds 12 - 2/8 pounds 6 - 1/8 pounds Then just multiple it by 5 (5 * 6 =30) |
5th grade???? I used to do this when I was 3 years old, gee

I divided 48 by 2, then figured out 1/8th of 48 is 6, and added 24+6 to come up with 30.
<-- grade 10 general math right here in action. ;) |
He had a Ph.D and still got it wrong ... I could not believe it
|
The best was that dude answered 40 CENTS.
Holy shit........ |

Without pressure, it's simple. Without pressure, most people can do this in 10 seconds tops. Add stress, and suddenly it becomes hard. |

You meet a woman on mars who has 8 beautiful titties - she says you can fondle all her titties at the same time for 48 cents. You only have 5 hands - how much will this cost you? |

But he also had more than 30 seconds to answer which is the annoying part of the program -- they let them take FOREVER. Give them 60 seconds.

After Shock... your avatar happened to me once. I accidentally bought the crazy chinese fertilized premie eggs and tried to crack them into a pan for some fried eggs..
Wasn't hungry after I saw the little chicken come out. |
That is such an easy one so that even though you only have 30sec under pressure you should be able to have it right
|
That was a question for a 5th grader? A 5th grader of what? A school for imbeciles? :eek7 As far as I remember myself in 5th grade we were solving square equations. Oh, I don't even ask what country is that.
P.S. 48*5/8 is the answer, or 48/8*5 because it's easier to calculate in mind. |
Whats the fucking point...
You aint got 5000 to give away you moron. |
That's not even close to being hard or tricky...
|
Was easy.
By the way, I loved this post in a thread full of friendly replies. Quote:

This is classic SAT question style. At first glance doing it the "normal" / "correct" way it would be difficult to do. But there is usually something simple you can do to make the problem much easier as pointed out above.
Here's another one. Find the sum: 1/4 + 5/8 + 1/2 + 3/4 + 3/8 |
presure got him :(
