My New York City Impressions (PICS)
After I went through a hell in Milan where I boarded the plane on 10th and they delayed the plane for about 60 minutes while searching me all over checking anything possible suspecting me of mob activities, I made it safe to the NYC on Sunday afternoon, moving over to Atlantic City right away where I spent a night and stayed for business on monday.
My impression from Atlantic City was that even they try to give it a brand new and more luxury face I still couldn't avoid a feel close to the cheapest parts in Vegas and there was a lot of white trash gambling and fake gold going on. Yet I can strongly recommend THE BORGATA hotel and casino resort while you would ever make it over there, the whole place is top notch, dining, rooms and service excellent and only comparable with the top hotels in Vegas, one thing I found very handy was the coffee machine as a part of the room which helped me to relax after about a 20 hours on the road in total. I woke up and took a walk around the casino place at 3 AM in the morning on sunday for a late dinner and a bit of gambling, I have to say I haven't had a good hand and the dealer was a true professional they put against Jaromir Jagr when he was in town recently, as I found out later on - well information is the most valuable commodity these days. After a dealing in AC I went back to the NYC in the evening of 12th and used a free evening for a decent walk around over Manhattan to check about 20 streets in the neighbourhood of my hotel on East 51st - it will surely sound like a cliche buy NYC impressed me and I used a cab only like three or four times during my stay because the city was too enjoyable to miss, definitely a place where a city rat like me with weird hobbies and regular bar attendance could imagine to live. Excellent dining with every single taste in the world to offer, piano bars, jazz n bluesy bars, rock bars, cuban bars, irish bars, italian bars - original places I was raised in in some of my all time favourite movies and, of course beautiful women everywhere - the city sure has an awfully lot of style. As a reminder I bought me a NY Rangers jersey, a couple of rare DVD's including Ani Di Franco and Steely Dan, books about Shane McGovan and Led Zeppelin, a couple of rare and obscure movies and some of the Henry Rollins spoken word. Although I fullfilled almost all of the points I was hitting New York for businesswise, it was also the first time I ever missed a party on a convention and I haven't been in the best party shape, which is very disturbing and alarming to me. The only thing I can do is to promise with all the certainty in my mind, that it won't happen in Florida, where my next way should be. I know what you are saying. After 15 years of living in NYC, I still walk as much as possible. It's just too entertaining not to. Which Steely Dan DVD did you get, 2 Against Nature? They are my favorite band. |

phew, you just jarred up some memories that had been lost since the show.
The belly pic, well I have no fucking idea, as far as the forty it was my first time back stateside and what better way to fit into NYC with a bag wrapped 40 oz of budweiser. Great seeing you again man, always good times. |
