IllTestYourGirls 05-21-2008 03:49 PM

The stimulus checks helped this little spike in price. Ya for inflation!

SilentKnight 05-21-2008 05:51 PM

On the plus side - perhaps with the insane gas prices these days...more surfers are staying home fappin' it to smut.

I keep tellin' myself that as I'm pumpin' liquid gold into my tank at the local Esso. :(

IllTestYourGirls 05-21-2008 06:41 PM

I say it every gas thread so Ill say it in this one. The price of gas has not gone up our dollar has dropped. Check out the growth of gold prices and the growth of oil prices an ounce of gold can still buy just about the same amount of oil it could 10 years ago. Have we hit peak gold too? haha

Dollar going down = higher gas prices.

Slick 05-21-2008 07:03 PM

I just had to fill up my diesel pickup today and I paid $4.74 per gallon, that's fucking crazy.

Zuzana Designs 05-21-2008 07:06 PM

thats the difference & why we will never get "used" to it....or accept it

we will goto war before it hits $8...trust me

pr0 05-22-2008 02:25 AM

AnneT 05-22-2008 02:50 AM

When I was with adult.com/Playboy, I drove 35 miles each way to work. I drove a Ford expedition at the time and just driving to work and home I had to fill up every 3 to 4 days.

That truck has been parked in my driveway for over a yr now as I cant afford the gas to drive it. and just so it's known, there were a few employees who drove a great distance to the office daily then I did. I simply did not make enough money to be able to afford gas and day care.. this was almost 2 yrs ago, I can only imagine what I would be paying now.

I miss my job and everyone I worked with, but god damn.. I was literally going broke going to work

The news had said Chicago was the highest in the US.

:(

jalami 05-22-2008 07:16 AM

If my commute were longer than the 1 mile that it is, the current gas prices would be painful... But yeah, those of you who commute really long distances with large engined cars and complain about gas prices should consider maybe getting a smaller engined car? Or is that Unamerican?
