I hate hate hate karaoke. Am I alone in this?

a couple buddies and I have ways of making karaoke more fun...we'll have a punk karaoke night where we take non-punk songs and make them into punk songs...I love a good Neil Diamond or Frank Sinatra as punk type song...

death metal karaoke is fun too, but has to be done with the right crowd ;-)

Its things like that that actually can make it fun. Its the people that are in a local bar ordering hot tea with lemon because they are "perfoming" next. Its like who are you kidding? For one you suck (Endless Love my ass) and two NO ONE is going to "discover" you here.

karaoke is fun when your doing it, NOT when you have to listen to it lol

my favorite karaoke place actually has a nice selection of punk and metal songs and even has Three Little Pigs by Green Jello (sorry, I refuse to call them Green Jelly ;-))

I love karaoke with the right group of people! I used to go regularly with friends. But then the DJ changed and the new sound system sucked and the crowd changed, so it got very lame.

I love listening to people sing who can't sing. Cracks me up

I can't stand it. If I'm heading into a bar and I see karaoke is on, I pull an about face and head somewhere else.

Who wants to see drunken idiots destroying songs I actually enjoy?

A lot of them are the same ones who try out for american idol and then get all pissy when Simon tells them how bad they suck in front of 20 million people.

Karaoke is fun when it's done in fun, but some of these paint-peelers who can't sing worth a damn have themselves convinced it's their life's true calling.
