It's funny watching how structured people's days can be when my own, at least on days like today, get thrown out the window before 11am. Some days it just feels like work is a wild ride that I grab, white-knuckled, and hold onto till it slows down. Or at least till I have to hit the gym mid-day to get away from it all, which is right now... ;)

My Day Consists of Basically Masking My Contempt for the Assholes in Charge, And, at Least Once a Day, Retiring to the Men's Room so I Can Jerk off While I Fantasize about a Life That Doesn't so Closely Resemble Hell

I used to have days like that. I was painting homes. You needs jobs like that so you realize when you have it good ;)

very true - many people don't appreciate the small things until they find themselves punching the time clock...

Exactly. Waiting for paint to dry is no fun, nor is trying to get it off your body and out of your hair and eyes (I wasn't the greatest of painters, as you can tell). But I really appreciate the small things now, like getting to take time off int eh middle of the day for the gym or being able to work from home some days or on weekends if I have to take time off during the week.

Still, you need that schedule to keep things moving at a decent pace. Mine, unfortunately, got obliterated today... but there's always tomorrow... and the weekend, right? ;)
