Tomorrow I am going to have dozens of tiny needles poked into my half naked body ...

Acupuncture!
It will be my first time trying it.
Anyone have it done regularly? Past experiences to share?
I'm a little nervous about it.

You realize that there is absolutely no evidence that that crap works right? Why the hell would you spend money on it.
Whatever the reason is it actually might work for you since you believe in it. But why not use that believe without the bs and save the money.

Vegas Ken 05-22-2008 11:13 AM

I did it a few times. It was kinda strange at first, but once you get over them placing the needles it is awesome. It actually is really relaxing. I would totally do it again.

ztik 05-22-2008 11:14 AM

Its called the placebo effect. It does nothing at all, but if you think it helps, then maybe it helps.

Actually, I am going into it with an open mind, not necessarily as a "believer"... I've heard both good & skeptical reviews on it. The negative are usually from people who haven't done it.
I have yet to hear a very negative experience from anyone who has. I was hoping to find some first hand experiences here.

Just looking to try something new & costs about the same as an hour long massage so I figured why not give it a shot?

Because its bs?

Its no other than taking a glass of water and think youre gonna swallow an imaginary pill which will cure whatever problem you have.

Vicious_B 05-22-2008 11:37 AM

Am I the only one that thought this was something to do with tattoos?

Actually I do find getting tattooed relaxing.

Violetta 05-22-2008 11:40 AM

Never tried it...

TubeTitans_SusieQ 05-22-2008 11:41 AM

ive heard both views as well, never tried it myself, but never had the time or $$ to either

Tom_PM 05-22-2008 11:41 AM

Well I thought maybe it was referring to half-naked midget sex, but I'm weird anyway.

:winkwink:

Have fun, Sarah!

Bex 05-22-2008 11:43 AM

Got it done on my knee once, actually they combined acupuncture with tens pulse therapy ... worked awesome.

What is worse acupuncture or believing what some psychic said?

CT 05-22-2008 11:48 AM

I have always wanted to try sensory deprivation.

CosmicTang 05-22-2008 11:49 AM

After a a car accident i had a problem with a sciatic nerve. After the regular docs couldn't fix it with pills I tried acupuncture. A few treatments and I haven't felt it since.

Just make sure you go to a good acupuncturist.

Mazuma Jason 05-22-2008 11:49 AM

Ha I love how in every thread, no matter what the topic, the shit just gets ripped instantly!

I did it for my back and found that it's really only good for short term pain relief!

Kimchi will poke you extra hard tomorrow for urban weave hate

Acupuncture exists because people want to "believe" in anything. Including invisible magical men in the sky and invisible healing needles.

It's all a load of horseshit but humans are so gullible and stupid they will believe it just for the sake of wanting to.

Instead of wanting to HOPE you can feel good about something save the $ you were going to spend and donate it to a cancer society. That way you can relax knowing you are helping provide a cure for a disease. That will make you feel 10x better than fake healing needles which is a scam. Just my 2c.

Shok 05-22-2008 12:03 PM

I gave anal acupuncture to your mom

WiredGuy 05-22-2008 12:03 PM

I had it done by a naturapathic doctor 3 times, make sure if you do it, you get it done by a doctor or someone with lots of experience. The experience was surreal, it feels like the blood flowing through my veines were changing direction. It was really neat and it really helped. The needles in your extremities (hands / feet / knees) are the most painful ones so be prepared ;)
