That's what I think- damn, that would be a nice series

It's a great series, Detroit has the experience, gives them a little bit more of an edge. We'll see if Ray Allen can hit some shots in these next few games that make a difference.

If the Celtics do win and it's a Lakers/Celtics Championship, that will be great for the league and this generation of young folks playing ball.

As a kid, watching the LA vs Boston battles were unforgettable.
I recorded all the games, I still have those VHS tapes, somewhere. :)

Cavs got lucky Allen missed a lot. He's doing better now. I'm surprised to see Wallace breaking out some shots from dowtown tonight, though.

IllTestYourGirls 05-28-2008 06:39 PM

boston wont win if the calls keep being so one sided :2 cents:

I've been thinking Detroit to the finals all year long BUT the series completely comes down to Ray Allen. If he can play like he did last year the series is over. If he keeps missing EVERYTHING but layups I think Pistons take it.

experience certainly matters and not a single Celtic has any real playoff experience.

Rondo needs to start taking some of those damn open shots too instead of passing them off with a couple secs on the shot clock. Thats been making me mad for a couple games now

The Celtics do have a few key players with "real" playoff experience and made a difference.

Posey:
With the Heat, Posey stepped up his D big time, some felt it was his contributions that led to Miami advancing so deep in 06. It's a big weapon having him come off the bench.

Cassell:
First 2 seasons in the league = 2 championships, with the bucks, they went deep in the playoffs, almost made the finals and when he played with the T Wolves, they made the playoffs and went deep.

P.J. Brown:
When he first played with the Heat, he started all 35 of their playoff games, played 4 playoff games with the Nets in 94 and again with the Heat in 06-07.

However, the Pistons have played and won together much more and have the edge. :)

Posey is a career benchwarmer, Cassell with Garnett they did have a single nice run together but Cassell is so old he's not much good for anything other than riding the bench.

Don't get me wrong Cassell had some playoff runs that were just as good as Detroit's Billups where he made a LOT of clutch shots.

I always like PJ Brown but the years just haven't worked well for him

Rasheed needs to quit shooting so damn much, I've always hated him. If you're around 7' get the fuck away from the 3 line.... I always said that about Ewing too!

Also Billups needs to hit the bench! He's hurtin and hurtin the team, let the rookie run wild.

Tayshaun Prince ever since his first year as a started I've really liked him. He has an ugly awkward looking lefty jumpshot BUT he's one of the leagues best defenders and a decent player down low.

I think the NBA is at a point where key players are vital...but if going by the saying "you're only as strong as the weakest link"...this is a league of maybe younger, but stronger players. Some may not have "playoff" experience but talent and perseverance mean a lot
