tony286 05-28-2008 06:48 PM

its a very good movie but its actually remake of the thing released in 1951.

BusterBunny 05-28-2008 06:49 PM

good flick, of all the movies that have been remade recently i am surprised this one hasn't...

GrouchyAdmin 05-28-2008 06:49 PM

That was actually a remake.. but I see this has already been noted. Much, much better than A&E's Andromeda Strain.

yeah i know the 80's version was a remake but i think they could make it even better with all the advancements in film over the last 20+ yrs ;)

Zuzana Designs 05-28-2008 06:58 PM

that was one of my favorite movies back in the day. I used to get freaked out by the part where it got in the dog cage/pen

nico-t 05-28-2008 07:14 PM

great movie.

notoldschool 05-28-2008 07:37 PM

My favorite all time horrer movie ending. It was Kurt Russells best role ever. Yes better than Snake Plisken too. Great flick.

Still has some of the best makeup effects ever, if not THE best.

No CGI bullshit.

If they tried to recreate that scene where they are tied up in the chairs with their blood being tested today, it would look like ass. Hell, they would probably do the flames from the flamethrowers in CGI too, just to make it more safe.

Xrated J 05-28-2008 07:49 PM

yeah, i knew it was a remake, but it is still one of my favorite horror movies

This is probably, the best remake ever. Awesome special effects, great score, and great acting. One of my top movies for sure. :thumbsup

i agree, i hate the use of too much cgi in movies nowadays. Doesn't matter how real it looks, the movements of something in cgi are always too smooth to be real - every cgi sequence suffers from this.

:winkwink:If you like The Thing check out The Last Winter and Isolation (2005)
