I've been looking at wp-postratings, and disabling external voting.

However, I hate WP, and I've only somewhat investigated the non-homebrew options thus far.

Nope. I sold off my sites and went into dev/admin in like '06. I implemented a system with wp and postratings then, and it still seems pretty popular. I know a few review sites here are using it, but their names evade me.
