final cut pro help
im a noob to final cut pro
but i edited a video added the effects i want then went to export using the quick time compressor it saves the video but not my effects? yes i have rendered all the video with option+r |
The video preview on the right shows my edits in it
|
I ask my editors monday for you
|
double click the sequence in the timeline to open it in the viewer window (left). Click the Effects Tab. Make sure that the sequence actually has the video effect on it. you may have applied the fx in the viewer in a way that it didn't actually get put in the sequence.
Make sure that when you're exporting that you have the sequence you want to export highlighted with proper in and out points and that all relevant tracks are also lit and unlocked. Try exporting a small bit my making an in and out point and exporting outside of compressor (say to Quicktime) to see if you get the same results. Leaving anything out? Weird plugins? |
make sure you have the specific sequence you want selected before you export
|
Use vegas video. It's great for editing noobs like you and me, and it does the same thing Final Cut does. I've used both, and I prefer the lower tier Vegas because I never ran into problems like yours -- "oh I forgot to click this button or turn this thing on".

You really spent $1300 on pro editing software without knowing how to use it?
