I am a little dissapointed about this mars thing.
"The robot arm is expected to begin its first digging operations after several more days of testing.
The final proof that the material is ice could take weeks, but close-up color images that were taken Saturday could improve the researchers' confidence level" http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/space/0....ap/index.html Awright so this thing costed like tons of fucking money made with state of the art shit and it can not detect water or ice within oh I dunno fucken 5 minutes? What a piece of shit. I for one suspect there is actually life on mars unfortunatly this fucking thing is not going to give us the answer only whether or not organic compounds exhist or not... I would not be so sure that is even a good idea anyways, Mars organics may not even be remotley similer to earth organics whats so ever. The whole mission is fucking retarded. I know them scientists are happy about the cheap ass mechanical arm thing but fuck an ehh! I bet it moves so fucking slow one could not even tell its moving if you were standing there watching the shit. Why the fuck didnt they just send a god damn Sony Robot with a piece of shit camara on it? the results would already be in. |
didnt you invent mars?

Christ almighty!
I am seriously wondering if you are progressing into deep mental retardation, perhaps a brain tumor even. It is way to late to even really begin to try to explain even the basics of this mission, its costs, the engineering, and why things take time. Perhaps when I wake up if this thread is still around I will try. Keep in mind there are several types of ice. Also keep in mind that the mission was to never prove or disprove if the planet has life, that is just a byproduct of the missions main goal. To answer if there are organic compound i.e. carbons. The focal point is the ice itself and its compositions. Time wise and testing, well they wish to maneuver into a proper location. Proceed to dig down a bit. Then scoop up small amounts at measured increments with each placed in a mini oven that will burn the material and examine the compounds as it burns. All the while controlled from someone here on Earth. May I honestly suggest you do more than just pull your news from CNN or some other very condensed source, specially when the topic is a wee bit more complex that if Britney was wearing panties. |
i would love to go to mars, it would be a very sexy holiday to go there :)

Its all bs.. they take the money and fake it

Whoa, this mars thing is awesome. :) |
I kinda thought the same thing. you would think it would beable to detect that ice was water with out the need to melt it. Then again I take it the NASA guy are fairly smart and have a reason to build it the way they did.

Your making sound like it's easy to prove there is water. If you can build something that can detect water in the desert and then transport it through space to Mars..... Well, do it yourself.

This thread is just plain dumb.
