The 3 big Tube sites and what the main stream thinks

* YouPorn.com is generating more traffic than New York Times' (NYSE: NYT) website.
* RedTube.com is trumping Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) Apple.com.
* Pornhub.com is outdrawing Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX).

The fact that someone at fool.com made a mention of these sites is a big deal.

Reading more into this article and what it said of Playboy:
The article brings to light, how all of us are becoming just like Playboy who is being left behind as the technology and the surfer changes.

One thing is for sure, surfers have it good these days.

Score can be right up there just get rid of those annoying join pages or needing a password to get in.Also stop producing videos and give others shit away. Giving shit away that's not some hot technology or business model. They are probably surprised how easy we let people fuck us in the ass.

No money is porn.

marketsmart 06-07-2008 09:00 PM

whats so funny about the tubes is instead of the adult community getting together and trying to stop them, they are just launching their own tubes...

its so comical its sad... give away more content to combat giving away content...

dev777 06-07-2008 09:04 PM

FACT: These tube sites are killing the industry.

So how does GFY'ers respond? By making their own tube sites!

Adapting to the new market? Nope, just speeding up the process of certain death.

those who are doing it are scum just trying to get what's left to be had from the industry in a panic fucking over everybody else.

fujiko 06-07-2008 09:23 PM

so many tubes indeed .. haha ..
its the new trend. .. A slow but sure death for this industry
it doesnt even matter anymore.. we can bitch all day .. But they are here to stay.. Sad Indeed.

fallenmuffin 06-07-2008 09:27 PM

the answer is simple. micro niche.

The biggest adult related tube only has 1-2 videos and zero for alot of niches I work in. They aren't killing anything for me.

Stop pushing teens, you'll do fine.

The idea of tubes is okay as long as the content is licensed. I don't see why some of the big boys can't sue the pants off of any of the porn type tubes who are actually using their vids without authorization.

The problem with the tube's is that surfers upload the content and website owner can't hold direct responsibility for everything that is uploaded. If this was so easy to throw responsibly on google for all the non legal content that is shared on youtube such as music or movies or the tv shows content that surfers upload there would be no youtube owned by google at least.
Anyways if a site focus on adult content most chance is that they will share not legal content if built on youtube concept.

no no no... the exception here is that a lot of the tubes are loading content themselves under bullshit user accounts and hiding behind the safe harbour act...

i own all my content and a lot of it and the fact is that you can make money running a tube site legit, you just need some capital to buy some decent content... :2 cents:

I understand, I was thinking of tube sites where there were no user uploads. Those could certainly be legit. As for copyrighted content on tubes that have user uploads, why not try suing the tub site itself not the individual uploader? After all they are the ones profiting from the advertising. Isn't there some unfair business practices statue or tortuous interference or something else an attorney could claim against the tube itself, despite their expected defense that some third party uploaded the video itself?

Dunno, you'd have to check the local Internet laws in Thailand :)

So true. I put my surfer hat on the other day. Surfing some tube sites for interesting content. Almost nothing there. Some niches are completely unrepresented. Ultra-niche? Forget it!

Check this out: http://www.redtube.com/channels

So mature/MILF doesn't deserve a channel?

I think the main issue is with vanilla porn. But I've found that a hard sell for years now. So no big news there. Ultra-niche has always rocked. Why? Suggest ultra-niche to most webmasters and they say "You mean like milfs WITH big tits?" Umm....

The other issue is that the tube sites have destroyed the traffic site model. No crappy traffic around to trade with coz it's all absorbed by these massive tube sites.

:2 cents: only
