Turning comments totally off in Wordpress?
 

What is the easiest way to do it?

I seem to remember from playing around with it aeons ago that there is an option somewhere in preferences. According to this site, you just do this:

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 8 characters.

Easy way:

Enter in Address bar, can't find a way to access this from the admin:

http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/options.php

change "default_comment_status" to "closed" (without quotes of course)...works like a charm.

and that is easier and works better than just going into the options liked mentioned above (can't believe I missed that)?
