Money Selling Content?

Just wondering if I could make a profit on a HD 30 min video female solo with toys, shot in good lighting. I would have to pay the female performer $200-$300.

BJ $275-$400

b/g $700-$1000

Above are my out of pocket cost minus the studio rental $100 a day and the cost of editing the video for an additional $150 per video.

The shoot style would be POV.

Filmed HD, 5 thirty minute videos with guy fucking girl. One anal scene, one facial, maybe one creampie, homemade content, no fake boobies, exclusive 2400. She is hot too

dave90210 06-10-2008 12:28 AM

Is that what you pay or is that what people will pay?

You can make money producing content. You can even turn a profit but...

You will have many ups and down. All the 'ballas' around here claiming to make the PHAT bling, rolling with 40's pimp juice in the lambo and girls topless or bikini clad eating out their assholes on their private yachts are fairy tales.

You'll find this out quick trying to sell anything of real value. Content, good sites, etc. There are a handful or real players on the board with money to buy things. They, ironically enough, are in the shadows and you do not hear much of them.

:2 cents:

I have been working in the adult industry for nearly 4 years now and I have been making a living running my paysite as a full time job throughtout the entire time and I have never even paid close to what you are paying. I have always paid $50 per 30 minute blowjob scene and $100 per 30 minute fuck scene and as of now, I actually have too many girls that are interested in shooting for the site. In fact, it has gotten to the point where I am turning girls down simply due to the fact that there are just too many girls that want to shoot. I normally receive approximately 10 to 15 emails per week from girls that want to shoot....(and girls that are already aware of the rates). I will never understand why so many producers pay so much for these scenes. Have you ever even tried lowering down your rates? You may be surprised with the outcome.

I don't specialize in shooting "porn stars" but rather real amateur girls. Many of them are not bad looking at all either. I don't know man, that is just what I have always paid and I have always had a pretty good stream of female talent wanting to work for the website. I am sure that it is because I shoot amateur girls but like I said, many of them are really not bad looking at all. Maybe try lowering your rates down a bit and see what happens? The rate also has alot to do with the timing of the shoot too. Most of my b/g scenes are only about 20-30 minutes but then again, you said that you were looking to produce a 30 minute HD video....yeah, fuck that bro. I wouldn't pay that much and the only reason why is not because I am cheap but because so far, the girls are happy with the rates that I pay. I suggest that you at least try to lower your rates down a bit. Like I said, you may be surprised with the outcome.

dave90210 06-10-2008 10:55 AM

Do the girls produce there own content and send it in for that rate? How do you advertise? Ive done Craigslist and I get allot of pros wanting tons of money on there. For the B/J and B/G scenes do they work with you on that or do they bring there boyfriends?

no offense but it looks like you're trying to get some pussy and have others pay for it. ... just get a 50 dollar CL hooker.

dave90210 06-10-2008 11:50 AM

No I want to make money. I don't think there is anything wrong with being in your own POV videos. It saves money not having to hire a male model.

Gary_TLX 06-10-2008 12:11 PM

Man, if I could get girls to do a 30 minute hardcore scene, I'd be rich. It sounds absurd that there are girls in FL who are willing to do this for $100. In Budapest you have to pay close to a thousand...

Nydahl 06-10-2008 12:54 PM

very interesting thread for me - I've learned more in this thread then I have done the last 8 years being a content producer.
Thanks God we got so many pros here :pimp

Gary_TLX 06-10-2008 01:50 PM

It's sad Nydahl, isn't it?

dave90210 06-10-2008 02:55 PM

Still looking for more information.

Dude!! evrybody wants to make money.. Have you been a personal assistant to anybody? have you held "C-light" for anybody? Have u even been on a porn set??? all because you see a naked girl on a bed with home depot shop lights, doesn't mean its lit well..

Im not trying to be a dick, but how can you play Chess when you dont know how the pieces move??

I recommend you put your time in before you loose all of your money or worse yet someone else's money..

The best example is RevSand.. He assists me on my shoots and AMA Joe on his shoots. when he's not assisting he's shooting with the skills he learns, solos, bJ's, BG's etc.

He sees and learns the different lighting schemes i use for SD, HDV and photography. He learns when to use what and why..

Too many people think its as easy as picking up an HD camera and a point and click stills.. Its not...

Nope. I shoot all of the girls for my website and I am the only guy on the site. For the b/g scenes, I usually have one of the girls from my site shoot those types of scenes unless it is a POV scene.

I have seen some of your stuff around. I never see you use a condom. And you say all these girls do it real cheap and you liek it that way, which makes me think. If they do it for 100 bucks. Do they spent 150 or more on a legit test?

Honestly I think not, but who knows. I think you are doing some scary shit. But like I said I might be wrong.

dave90210 06-10-2008 05:45 PM

I will be honest when I'm watching a POV video the last thing I'm thinking about is if the lighting is diffused properly. The content I'm creating is amateur so the lighting doesn't have to be perfect. One of the sites I like is electrofilms.com and that's the style I'm going for seedy poor lighting hotel room.

Allot of the times when I purchase a DVD i pass on the studio Vivid professional videos. I pick up the homemade videos that people do at home.
