Anyone do the Detox Diet?

It's called the Lemonade diet,(but not really lemonade) I started it today, you drink this fluid 8 glasses a day. You can consume light servings of raw veggies and fruit. OMG I'm so hungry lol You can't smoke, drink caffeine, or liquor, for 4 days.
I'm really doing it for the body cleanse but the bonus part is you loose extra weight. Has it worked for anyone? Please tell me the 1st day must be the worst!

CaptainHowdy 06-10-2008 04:49 PM

I usually do it with red tea (four cups a day) instead of lemonade... It's tough but works.

GrouchyAdmin 06-10-2008 04:51 PM

This is a simple modification of the "Hollywood 48 hour diet"; after you detox, you'll find you've lost mostly water weight. It'll come back when you start eating normally, again.

WarChild 06-10-2008 05:03 PM

Please don't be ridiculous.

Starving your body of the nutrients it needs for 2 days is not going to "detox" anything.

shekinah 06-10-2008 05:13 PM

I eat crackers and oatmeals when I'm hungry and that makes me not to crave for any other food.. I also drink coconut juice and not tea. Coconut Juice removes the toxins from your body.

Yes, you lose a couple pounds from starving your self in which you will gain right back. Highly successful!

What is actually detoxing? Of course not having caffeine, cigarettes, and alcohol for a week will clean out your body!

I did the Stanley Burroughs "Master Cleanse" for 10 days. Just follow the book to the letter. It works, and it wasn't hard to do.

tony286 06-10-2008 05:49 PM

if your doing the master cleanse you are supposed to have anything but the lemonade. If you last week you dont feel that hungry after that.

SayWhut 06-10-2008 05:57 PM

That crappy diet is the perfect way to fuck up your body.

Jim_Gunn 06-10-2008 06:04 PM

Those phony "detox" diets are total nonsense. You aren't detoxing anything unless you are counting giving up your daily cigarette smoking and boozing habit as detox. Just eat healthy food in appropriate amounts and drink plenty of water.

Please just stop. I really do not want to go into another stupidity melt down again as I did in the cell phone thread so pretty please just stop.

It is purely junk science. You have organs that cleanse your body and they do the job perfectly. There are no hidden toxins hiding in the nooks of your body or soul. Your intestinal tract is also perfectly fine and there is not no chunks of meat or a twinkie you ate in 1998 still sitting in a fold.

The only thing you are doing is starving your system which is really bad for it and eventually your mind will begin to fuck with you and make you feel a little euphoric. That is a very natural reaction to starvation and other acts where your killing your body. It usually starts a few days in.

If you want to make for a better body just eat healthier (do not go vegan on us either). This also does not mean a fucking raw diet either as many of those wonderful veggies and such can not release all of their nutrients without some coaxing from heat sources. Then cut back on the booze, stop smoking the cigarettes, and walk more (full on exercise if you can).

Eat three meals a day, and if you get hungry drink water, instead of a sinckers bar.

Years ago, I once took a bet that for a week I couldn't have any alcohol, sex, food or masturbate heh. I won :)

However for actual health, it can be beneficial but not for weight loss. Once a year for a week is a good thing, even if your body can clean itself, you can always help it do its job you know.

However, don't stick with only tea or lemonade or something. Do this:

Eat as much fruits/vegetables as you wish, no limits, and obviously as much water as you want. You can blend the fruits/veggies into a shake if you wish, just don't use any of the sugary fruit drinks from the box.

Here, you don't need to miss any nutrients/vitamins and just eat as much as you like when you feel hungry, you'll do fine.

Five to seven really small ones is even better for you. Though I just can not motivate myself to have that many. So I just snack when I want but primarly on healthy stuff and end up eating many small portions most days.

I am also ok with drinking more than water. Occassional glass of wine is ok, juices are ok, green tea or even black tea is ok, and so forth. Just try to stay the fuck away from high fructose corn syrup. PS which reminds me besides Hansons brand soda, Costco recently started to carry Coca Cola from Mexico which uses cane sugar.

Jones Soda now uses sugar cane as well. HFCS is bad stuff.

yeah, they are expensive but at least when I get a soda crave I can find it just about anywhere.

I did the master Cleanse last summer, and it was good experience.

12 days with no food...just lemons, maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

yes, it's a bit tuff at first. the middle is easy and the last few days are a bitch. I couldn't drive a car because I couldn't focus. had to stop filling out 2257 paperwork too ... afterwards I was different. cut way back on caffine, drink coffee black now and no more sodas. -bmb

Kudles 06-10-2008 07:06 PM

Hey was going to do that but I heard it tastes like shit!

Angelina77 06-12-2008 05:46 AM

lol I don't smoke and I'm not a drinker, that's the rules on the bottle! It's not just lemonade it's concentrated with cayenne pepper, honey, and lemons, with a lot of vitamins. Anyway I gave up on it, my urine started to smell, and so did my skin. People say thats the toxins leaving your body! But that is so nasty! If that's true and I'm so full of toxins then how come I don't smell usually? Whatever it's dumb! I don't need to loose weight, I just fell for the detox part of it!
