what's the strongest cleanser?

i am painting a room that hasn't been painted in 10 years - so i need to clean the walls first. what's the best cleanser?

TSP is what I use for paint prep. WOrks like a charm.

Polyprep T.S.P cleanser, best thing I've used and I've painted a lot.

what do i use - a rag is enough or a scrub brush?

Use a rag or sponge to wipe the walls with the tsp/water solution. Then go by with a rag and clean water.
